Yep, lots of good stuff there and you didn't even list St. Paul & the Broken Bones.
We call him Scooby Do, but Scooby doesn’t do. Scooby, is not involved

I was cutting him slack there thinking that was a given considering the time, place and name of the thread, but yeah, good point.

The only bands that would really reel me in out of that line up are Lucero and Jack White. Some pretty decent artist, some pretty awful ones. DBT and St Paul obviously.
As tinnitus said, what's there isn't enough to bring to me to drive 8 hours to stand in a hot, sticky, humid field surrounded by tools.

Re: DBT at Bonnaroo 2014
I did Bonnaroo for the first 5 years and loved pretty much every minute. Some of my greatest show memories are from there (WSP in 2002, MMJ in 2004, Neil in 2003, etc, etc.) but it's fucking work to navigate a festival that large in that heat. We did it and had it down to a science but I just can't do it anymore. As far as DBT goes I was unfortunately not into them in 2003, although a few of my camp mates saw them, and in 2005 I was flat on my back outside the tent and only got to hear them because of an unfortunate morning glory seed incident, but again my Roo days are past. Still good lineup and anyone that goes is bound to have fun.

You could give me tickets, airfare and lodging and I'd probably say thanks but no thanks.

Re: DBT at Bonnaroo 2014
I am just not into DBT festival sets. They give them like an hour and thirty minutes which we know is just not enough time! Maybe the roo is different, but I doubt it. don;t get me wrong, if I were there I would be at the show.

90 minutes? most non-headliner festival acts get about 50-75 min.
Re: DBT at Bonnaroo 2014
I have no idea what kind of show Elton John puts on these days but that could be awesome. He's one of those acts I'd never pay to see but expect he'd be great to catch live. Esp with one of those heady, 3rd day of a festival buzz.
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro

I was a bit wounded with a bad knee at Homecoming. Is Bonnaroo spread out too far for this to be realistic?

Lots of walking. The stages aren't far from each other but campsites can be, but are not always, far.

Re: DBT at Bonnaroo 2014
looks like they were a headliner (or at least played last). most bands got 60 min, which i would think is the allotment DBT would get at Bonnaroo

Re: DBT at Bonnaroo 2014
Just curious... I know DBT and other bands play these festivals because the money's supposedly good. So, how much does a band get paid for one of these gigs?

I wouldn't think it's terribly more than a given band's usual guarantee but the real benefit is exposure. At a festival like Bonarroo you're almost certain to have people see you play who would have never even thought about going out to a club/theater gig.
