boston 3/21

Post by yukon cornelius »

I've never been to the HOB

since i don't see any portland dates any time soon, thinking of taking my 9 year old to boston......of course daughter #3 arriving 3/7 is throwing a litte monkey wrench into the works

can i get away with taking her onto the floor?

would some of the 3DD regular rail riders be willing to carve out a little space to keep a 9 year old a little "sheltered" from the masses?

I don't "do" the rail myself so can't speak for the railbirds but I'm pretty sure your daughter will generate the usual protective instincts among the faithful. The HOB is no better or worse than most other clubs in terms of the general atmosphere on the floor.

If GW is making the trek from the Midwest, I guess the gauntlet has been thrown down.

My understanding is that StevieRay and the Mrs. will be attending this one as well. Unfortunately not in the cards for us but we will have to do Boston one of these times.

You probably want to get your reservations in now because once GW starts talking about the wonderful hospitality he experiences, the waiting list is going to grow as long as the one for Pats tix and the prices are going to shoot way up. ;)

Older son (from KS): IN.

This is turning out to be quite a crew :) The Midwest will certainly be well represented!

tickets came in the mail today

if she doesn't hear "marry me", emma might cry or tear the HOB apart...lol

she's still coming to terms with the concept that she won't hear 'outfit' or 'decoration day......

I have the feeling that me and my crew will be looking to pre-game too late for the rail birds who will want to get on line early, so I hesitate to be the planner. But if nobody else steps up, I'll at least let you know where my crew will be (but late-ish).

Tin, you've got some concerns so if there's a place that you prefer close by I think you should have the honors.

beer works or landsdowne pub are the closest (i don't like pre-gaming at the HoB restaurant).

emma is cool with the beer works......we go there before sox games

my only concern is getting a spot where emma can see on the floor......ultimately getting up front would be key, but i don't think she can handle opening act and the wait in between along the rail.....my guess is we'll do our best to work our way down there in between acts, i've had great luck doing that in the past

what's my best bet for parking, assuming we get down there 3-4ish?

Greetings,

Me and a pal are making a 6 hour drive south tomorrow from Canada for our first ever DBT show. Super excited. I hope they let us through the border...

If we make it, where's the best spot for some pregame beers? It looks like Boston Beer Works is popular in this thread. We're from Canada so we'll need some strong ales.

parking around HoB is fine if there is not a Sox game (otherwise, it's a nightmare). there is no parking directly on Lansdowne, but Yawkey Way is usually open, or the streets around it.

alright, i plan on getting to Beer Works around 6ish. i'll be gimping along and will have my trusty black messenger bag w/ me...OM, Sleep, GBV and Moss patches sewn on it. still need to get my St Vitus, Six Organs and Melvins patches attached.
