UR beat me to the punch. Ummm yeah IN.

The $89 rate at Courtyard should be set up and ready to go for those of you who like to stay there. They have a limited block at that price so you should get on it.

40 Watt site says it's on sale 11/22, and lists New Madrid, Camp Amped Band, and St. Paul & the Broken Bones as the respective openers.

I'm guessing they could play the record then but according to that Billboard article that was making the rounds recently the album won't be out until March.

To get the DBT rate, you'll need to call the Marriott directly.
It's in the Athens Primer, but just to make it super easy, here you go:

Courtyard Marriott
166 North Finley Street
Athens, GA 30601, USA
1 706-369-7000
Jay Gonzalez - the Swiss Army Knife of Musicians - Patterson Hood

The wife and I are tenatively in. This will be our second homecoming in a row. The wife will also be 8 months and 3 weeks pregnant at show time thus the tenatively. She is a trooper though so as long as she isnt in the hospital she will be there...I would hate for her to miss homecoming  !

The hotel room is booked, transportation arranged. This will be our first homecoming. I will be counting down the days until it is here!

There's precedent here. The Go-Go Boots album release show was on 1/13/11 but the album didn't drop until February 15th.

Got my hotel. Daughter is coming again. She had a good time last year but it obviously wasn't the most festive of Homecomings. She's looking for the big party this year. I'm sure you heathens won't disappoint

Peer pressure, alive and well in my mid 30s. Damn all of you! It is a bonus that Monday is President's day.. Too early to make the 'IN' call. Yet....

All I can tell you is that in 2008 I seriously thought about going, I had the money, I sort of had the time and I made a safe decision and stayed home. Then I sat at my desk and looked at this here board (well the old 9b actually, same thing) on the weekend of Homecoming and cursed myself. In 2009 I made the right call and now five years and some major life changes later we're heading to Athens for HC #6. You gotta do it man, you gotta!

How's that for peer pressure?

I did it make it to Fri-Sat in 2012... Having done the Homecoming run once my thought for 2014 is to do the GA Theater shows (having done GA in the winter why not try it out in August).. I'm sure I'll cave for this run shortly after the new year

Well the GA Theater is pretty awesome too and Athens is one of my favorite places no matter what time of year.

Okay, who wants to rent a house for the homecoming. They rent them out for entire weekends during football season. Maybe we can get one and have a homecoming pre-party on the 12th. More fun than a hotel. An old school party house! \w/

IN! :D

Hotel booked, sort of know what the air arrangements will be but not certain, but what's up w/ tix? 40 Watt says tix available on the 22nd, but I assumed we could buy them thru the DBT site now. There's a "button" to buy tix, but it doesn't go anywhere. Are there any details other than buying tix from the 40 Watt on Friday?
