So Jason Thrasher was in town last night to shoot some promotional live videos of the new album. Well you don't want to play live to an empty house. So you invite some folks you know over to be in the audience. And some songs get played two or three times. And there are false starts but nobody cares and we are all laughing because the audience is a bunch of uber fucking nut job FANatics. Oh yeah---and you ask folks to wear black so there is less light reflection
I am half an hour from flying from toronto to Atlanta . It seems like it's going to happen How tough will it be to get to athens? Are the shuttles going???

I'm not sure we can get to the HWY today. We're less than .5 miles from I 85 but the side road at the Days Inn is buried in snow. I own a rear wheel drive car which doesn't help.

Just an fyi, its snowing again in charlotte and have a friend further south along 85 in belmont that said its coming down like yesterday there. Hoping these ends quickly so roads can start to recover to drive carefully down tomorrow

I went out a little while ago to try to get my car unstuck & it started snowing again. Starting to look like we'll be out for tonight.

Ok folks. My daughter's flight left NYC for Atlanta at 7:00 this morning. As of now it looks unlikely that the shuttle will be running. If anyone is coming into or passing by the airport and can help out, I would be eternally grateful. And drinks are on me for the weekend
So now this is supposed to stop at 4am Friday, which is when I need to be at airport. I don't think its going to happen now. Delta has no other flights till Saturday. State of Emergency here so not allowed to drive, so I'm guessing I'm out.
Planes, trains & automobiles. What an emotional rollercoaster this fucked up weather has wreaked upon the HeAthen Nation. My heart goes out to anybody who has had their travel plans crushed by this ill-timed storm. Safe travels to everyone that is still on the way.
The only thing better than a perfect Trucker's show is one where they keep fuckin' up & you get to hear them play those great songs over & over. So glad I was fortunate enough to be able to make that scene.

So my final option is walk the 3 miles to the train station, get to Newark airport and camp out till my flight at 6:15 am Friday, or not go at all. I can't ask my wife to drive in this with my 2 boys.
If anyone does the drive from Atlanta today could you please post a report? I'm probably leaving around 4-5. I'm worried about 316, pretty sure 85 is clear enough.
Been following all the travel vignettes, where every ounce of ya'lls beings is pushing you towards fulfillment in Athens. Some of you will make it, others will not. If we only relied on ourselves, we'd all be there. But we don't. There's a Patterson song in all these movies somewhere. Long live DBT and 3DD. Makes me proud to be in the presence of all this dedication and commitment, and it's a huge part of what I love and appreciate about this beautiful, gangly thing called DBT.
