Agreed 100% I like what they did there, I'm just not sure if I like it better than a Neff-esq thick lead part...
From what I've heard so far, it seems pretty clear that this is a very different DBT album from the past 3, which all heavily mined that soul-country-funk mix.
It has some of the textures of PH's recent solo albums crossed with Stones-channeling Cooley. Pretty damn good.

Yep. I liked the country soul thing they did but I was beginning to tire of it. I think this one is going to be pretty different from what they've been doing for a while and I'm ready for something different.

Did I say the drunk solo was bad? Nope. Merely made an aesthetic observation.
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever

I can't find the like button on the 3DD.
As long as you know you "like" a guy who used "gay" as an insult in a previous post....

So, have you come around on The Glimmer Twins, Zip? And while we are on the subject of coming around, has your opinion on green onions changed as well?

I was never anti-Stones, but you knew that
I don't ever remember being anti-green onions

In regards to the leak, I feel like Kramer in "The Contest" episode of Seinfeld but so far, so good. Just not so sure how long I'm gonna be able to hold out...
EXTREME "Brown Sugar"-type Stones on "Shit Shots Count," probably my favorite of the three released tracks. My opinion may change tomorrow - nothing at all wrong with "Primer Coat" or "Hearing Jimmy Loud." Those horns drove me bonkers.
Will someone post a link to Shit Shots Count or the whole freaking album already? I don't know how much longer I can have my emotions toyed with like this before I snap and go on a multi-state crime spree or something. Don't worry Iowan, I'll steer clear of your jurisdiction. On the other hand, at least you would understand my defense.

I'll chalk it up to selective memory.

It's one big ol' pile of Cooleyisms, greasy guitar, and "Sticky Fingers" horns.
Or as we say in my world, "perfection".
since I have lately rediscovered myenjoyment of early 1970's Rolling Stones ablums. In particular an underappreciated, fairly obscure one called EXILE ON MAIN STREET, I am looking forward to this.
skinny boys and big guitars. Ticks all the boxes.
I've never taken a pissbreak during a DBT show but if I had it would have been during Dancing Ricky.
