On Halloween 2003 at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC, they came out dressed as characters from The Andy Griffith Show. That was a fun night. :D

You guys are such a great influence... scheming now to add Chicago and Detroit. Will definitely be needed hotel recommendations for both.

Does anyone know which of these pizza places is best and which is convenient to the Vic?

Take the El downtown and got to Malnati's. I still think they're the best in the Chicago Deep Dish style. Uno's has gotten lazy and the ingredients come to them prepacked now (which makes some sense I guess giving their franchising).

x2

Lou Malnati's is and likely always will be my favorite. No matter what other toppings you go with, you have to go with their sausage pizza. It is a full layer of sausage. I like to incorporate giardinera or green peppers. Giradinera probably isn't a good idea to eat before a rock show though.

And in regards to prepackaging of Lou's, Clams won a Bulls-Sixers series bet (D-Rose ACL) and had two Lou's pizzas mailed to him on my dime. Although, its probably not quite the same as the freshness of eating there.

Bill, depending on what town you are staying at in the Northwest burbs you may have one close there. I know that they have a Lou Malnati's in both Schaumburg and Lakewood (Crystal Lake).

This year they will cover Lawn Boy in its entirety with EZ B on the vacuum for a solo.

Yes. It is fun, the burgers are great but it's very loud. Also tough to get in. If you can by all means do so.

Kuma's Corner is solid Bill. It can be tough to get in there, but it is definitely considered to be the most famous burgers in Chi-town.

I don't see an opener listed on the DBT website for this one, nor the Iowa show either. Do you guys think that this will be "An Evening With?"

Also, you guys haven't gotten your tickets yet, through the DBT website either, have you?

You were there? You weren't one of the cheerleaders that came out before DBT took the stage were you?

That show was crazy. I don't know that I've ever seen a DBT setlist that thick before. Easily top 5 show I've seen by any band. And without a doubt my favorite and the longest DBT show I have ever attended...and likely the best.
I can't expect to ever see something like that again. But I'm so grateful that they chose to play Chicago for Halloween and I'm sure they'll rock the shit out the Vic like they always do.

I haven't had the opportunity to travel out of state to a rock show since Athens and they haven't been here in a couple years. I cannot wait. And the bonus of JI and the 400 Unit playing the Saturday before, has my crew extremely excited.

I was there; it's one of my favorite memories! I did their makeup that night, which I usually do on Halloween when they need it, though that year I didn't have nearly enough time to make them look like Wes Freed's versions of themselves. Could have used about 2 more hours, but you work with what ya got... Those latex applications didn't last long under those hot lights and makeup was everywhere, but those poor guys were troopers, as always. I wasn't one of the cheerleaders, but I came out as dead Mary Alice and threw roses during Putting People on the Moon. Convinced me once and for all that I preferred backstage to ON stage. Audiences are terrifying!

It was a great night, though, and the band was on fire. I'm pretty sure they'll kick that year's ass this year, though.

Lots of Whiskey, barley, and smoke but I totally remember that now!!

Another epiphany that I just had....Got into an argument with my girlfriend at the show because she wanted to leave two hours into the show, because "it had already been long enough." She walked back to our place about 5 blocks from there. I stayed and we broke up the next day. ( I know, I know, not classy on my part but shit happens) I'm since happily married to a girl that can rock a DBT show harder than most of the pussies on this board. ;) That show likely saved me from a divorce. Long live DBT.

Oh, you came out on the better end of that deal, then. Any girl who didn't understand the magnitude of that rock show doesn't deserve your love. :D
