I briefly met SactoChris at a DBT show (I think it was the Empire Room in Sacramento). Mighta been The Dirt Underneath show in SF. Anyhow, point being is that DBT seems to attract genuinely good people! The type of people that'll restore ones faith in mankind.

Hell, I met WWCD at a DBT show and we've been close friends ever since. This time I'll be bringing a lifelong buddy, a DBT fan but a Rawk show virgin. I look forward to introducing him to some of the finest folk he'll ever meet. See you at the show.

I did invite all 9bs to the Jackson, Mississippi show. You have to bring a sleeping bag, but I'm always willing to share floor space with Trucker fans. Look forward to meeting you! JimmyC is under the weather and may not be checking the board, but yes, he was the winner of the setlist auction -- made excellent choices, too. I heard some songs at that show that I'd never heard before and may never hear again. One for the memory books.

Keep an eye out for the short chick with short brown hair and brightly colored glasses and the not much taller dude with long, curly hair.

Ill keep an eye out for you both. Some say I look like a skinny version of Larry "The Cable Guy". I will be wearing sleeves and no camo hat. :)

typically a show has to be completely sold out in advance before they make a poster. Could be the 1st headline, the last two stops were the double-bill thangs with Son Volt and THS

DBT headlined Fillmore with Heartless Bastards opening in 2005:

And the show is sold out.

Sold out! That's very cool. I think the place holds 1150 people. That's a nice payday for them. They deserve it. They sure earn every dollar. I can't wait for the fuckin rawk show!

Come to think of it, 2008 was a banner year for SF and DBT! DBT visited SF 4 times!!

Been a LONG 18 months between DBT shows out here...
Never forget the Zip City opener for the first night when DBT closed.
Knew right then we were getting a good one...
Can't wait for next week to get here.

My buddy has a new food blog and has lived in the Fillmore for the past decade. He put together a dining/boozing guide to the Fillmore.

http://fogcityfoodie.com/2010/05/02/the ... bar-guide/

I recommend:

1300 (pricey, but good food)

Yoshi's for the ambiance and good sushi and Japanese whiskey upstairs (along with an amazing white oak bar), but Osaka for great sushi and a great show at the sushi bar. Be careful as the sushi chef will get you fracked up on saki.

SPQR - So very good. Roman tapas. Usually ass-packed, so make a reservation, but I highly recommend.

Woodhouse fish: Very solid west coast fish joint. New. The do a local crab right.

2001 Thai stick. good, cheapish thai food with a huge bar.

The Grove! You must grab a coffee and/or lunch at the Grove. The owner, Ken Zankel is a big DBT fan and also a big donor to Nuci's. Great guy and a great spot. Search for the DBT sticker on the outside of this place. If Ken's around tell him DBT sent ya.

Fillmore Street Cafe: This coffee has saved my life on more occasions than I'd like to remember. Great sandwiches, too.

Harrys: Fun pub grub with a great bar.

Fresa: Peruvian OMG food. One of my favorite places in the city. Get the chirizo/clams/saffron/bowl of freakin goodness as an appetizer and sop up juices with bread.

Would you buy imported cheese from this man? Speaking of which, will u be back by 5/11? I'll be making a quick trip to the city that apparently will not involve actually setting foot in Manhattan (!!??) but there's a chance i could be on the east side late Tues aft.

I don't think it's blackmail, I think she is just bearing witness to my asshattery, caused by a day of thinking I had Keith Moon powers of consumption

Well I'm looking forward to meeting you minus the asshattery, of course. I hope to leave with a memory of WWCD on his best behavior.

my wife and I join you in hoping for the same outcome

thankfully my performance that night is by no means a regular occurrence. On top of the Moonesque quantities of alcohol consumed that day/night, it was that damn Xanax that was the coup de grace! Note to self: pharmaceuticals with a palindrome for a name are to be avoided
