So I was encouraged to bring a discreet drink to a function recently and decided to break in my Women Without Whiskey flask. Unfortunately, the flask is still quite full, and I am not (as you may know) a big drinker. The instruction sheet with it said not to leave it full more than three days. How seriously should I take that? Or maybe how literally should I take that. Either way, your thoughts are invited!

You can drink it..... BUT it starts to have a metallic taste after a few days.

Get 'em while they're hot.

I usually leave mine partially full and never noticed a metallic taste.

I'll dip into it again tonight and see what I think. Yes, that's how little I drink.

Okay I just took a nice swig from my half full flask and tasted all bourbon and no metal. So there.

I wouldn't put too much weight on this, because I have an unsophisticated palate, but mine tasted slightly harsher than Patron usually does. I can't really say how.

An "Awaiting Resurrection" t-shirt. The phrase kinda sums up everything these days. Awaiting the return of the Rock Show. Waiting for the coronavirus storm to pass. Awaiting Nov. 3rd.

What would go better on a face mask--a Cooley bird, a white owl, a moon face, or a jacket cat?

I'd be up for buying a Wes Freed poster for the postponed pandemic shows. A poster for the shows that didn't happen. Might be a cool collectors item....

Cool. I'll pick one up.

I was talking about a new special poster for the times/postponed shows. Dunno...just a thought. Might be a nice little fundraiser for the band and merch team.

I'd like to update this one. It needs Wes artwork featuring a crowd of folks/zombies carrying pitchforks and Eleanor looming over the top. Maybe a rework of the SRO cover with folks walking down 72. Eleanor replaces the owl. "Awaiting Resurrection" replaces DBT text at the top.

/another of my beer posts, but I'd definitely buy this.

It appears the shot glasses are gone from the store.

It would be nice to see those restocked, maybe with a different design. The owl was passable but something else might work too.

I think a few folks have mentioned this, but it would be nice to have a new cap on the store. I don't wear hats often, but I do keep them around and always have one in the car. I noticed a cap that I've had for a very long time was hitting the point of literally (and "literally" is not a word I use figuratively) falling apart, so I went on the store thinking I'd buy whatever DBT hat was there to support the band, but there were none to be found.

And I stand by my Awaiting Resurrection shirt request. The beers I had that night may have influenced my artwork suggestions a couple of posts above, but the phrase and the song perfectly describe where we are right now.

Those of you all who heard the Dimmer Twins shows from Asheville last year certainly remember a brief but, ah, spirited discussion of pornography. That got me to thinking about marketing opportunities, and now, I think I've found one. I don't know if EZ-B ever uses shaker eggs, and I guess it doesn't matter.

Ladies and unsavory guys--let's be real about this, okay?--I give you the Tenga Easy Beat Egg!

Image
easy beat egg
The TENGA EGGs include some of our most popular disposable masturbators! These small eggs contain a super-stretchable elastomer sleeve that suits most sizes. Each design reflects the internal details so you enjoy different sensations from each!
These are no more simple masturbation devices than a can of Cups of Dawn coffee is just a coffee can! Look at this beautiful design! There are three Keith Haring models. Collect them all!

Image

I am sure we are all anxious to find out what sort of design Wes Freed would put on one. And I bet for a little more money in the initial manufacture, you can make one that'll make noise when you shake it. The technology already exists, as you can see by this demo video:

And once it dries out, it'll make a great shaker, just like any gourd full of seed.

So what do you say? The EZ-B Easy Beat Egg! All you need is...?

Still waiting on that Cooleybird face mask. MusicToday remains undefeated at sucking. I'd generally be inclined to give them a pass due to COVID but they were plenty awful even in normal times.

I was just thinking about this today. My order was placed on 5/23.

MusicToday is a pretty ironic name for the company...
