The Swamps have just been added to the roll call. I suspect they were holding out in order to get that coveted 69 position. Wouldn't be Homecoming without them. Count me in!

The Swamps are who made ME come. Well, "made." I ran into them at Dazed last time I was in Athens and they told me they'd see me at Homecoming. When I protested that I might not be able to come, they said, "Oh, we didn't say we MIGHT see you there. We said we WILL." From there, my decision was made.

I love the Swamps!

So one of my closest friends, and one of the guys who turned me on to DBT, is arriving at the ATL airport for the shows on Thursday at about 10:35 AM. I'd like to try to find him a ride if possible. His name is Lester and I know much of the Midwest contingent knows him. If anyone is getting in close to that time and might have car space let me know.

Getting pretty excited. The roadtrip to Athens starts this Saturday. We're stopping in Akron, Ohio to visit family Saturday night and will be in Charlotte, NC through Thursday morning to visit my folks. Then, on the Athens. The holiday juggernaut of food and booze carries onward to the Rock Show. See y'all soon!

Our adventure starts before dawn this Tuesday. We're cleaning out the car and packing this weekend and the dog trainer is picking up our dog Monday night for boarding.

We hope to have our feet up at the Courtyard before sundown Tuesday.

Just made my official boarding arrangements this morning. Our border collie Sadie is going to hate it, since we had rescued her and she will feel like we're taking her back to the shelter. It's going to break my heart to do it, but it will put our mind at more ease since the Grandmas and Grandpas can focus their attention on our 1 year old Zoe. First time leaving her for the night. (This trip will be very bittersweet at the beginning, however should settle in nicely once we get down there and the anxiety subsides)

See y'all on Friday about 3 pm.

I am so looking forward to getting to Athens, seeing DBT, and rocking out with all of you wonderful people. Even if you are fans of the SEC.

That's pretty typical weather for Homecoming. It's been warmer and it's be ien much, much colder. The 2011 ice was rough but I also remeber it being 15 degrees coming out of the first night in 2009. 50 I can live with but I wouldnt mind if the rain holds off.
