Fuckin' A!!! What a show. What an amazing supercalifragilistic rock show!!! A couple of times i thought one of them thar geetars was gonna spontaneously combust. Shredding to the left, shredding to the right, shredding in the center. Phew!!!

Sooner or later i'll unscramble my brain but not just yet. Just wow.

I tuned in via one of them there satellite dealiebobs. This was by far one of the best shows I've heard in a long time. They gave us a solid 4 hours. God Bless DBT!!

Love the running commentary slipkid. I was gonna post from the show but I lost service in that cavern (which is why I had that triple-post mishap).

Holy schmoly that was flipping fantastic. :D

have topped my first show, which was the DC 2006 930 Club 3-hour barnburner. I've been chasing that show for almost 50 now, and I finally got it. How can you top David Hood playing bass on the very soul classics he recorded in the first place? Or Kelly Hogan singing "Delta Dawn" or "Angels & Fuselage"? Or DBT with a horn section? Or ringing in another year with my favorite band?

Wow...

AMAZING show last night...trip up from NC so worth it.
Best I've ever seen them!
Song that stands out to me the most is Lookout Mnt. It was so loud and heavy...perfect!
Everything about last nigth...perfect.

Here are some pics from our spot on the second level rail. It's from my iPhone, so not the best, but something...

New Years MP3's

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XAB808TG

I'm going to apologize in advance, but these haven't been cut into individual tracks. This is just two big mp3's, one of the first set and one of the second set and encore. I recorded this using a Sirius receiver running into my Macbook Pro and think it sounds pretty good. I plan on eventually cutting this into proper tracks and posting FLAC's, but that could take me a few weeks and I thought people might be wanting to hear these in the meantime.

Enjoy!

Pre-recorded stream at 5pm: http://www1.rollingstone.com/gogol-bordello

They are streaming Gogol Bordello at 9 after DBT and replaying the Flaming Lips NYE Freakout at 9 tomorrow. Just a plug for my other fave band: the Flaming Lips are playing the epic Soft Bulletin in its entirety in the second half of the Freakout.

This was by far the best, DBT show I've ever attended...OMG..Simply amazing...Like Monty610 mentioned, ranks up there wiuth the stellar 9:30 Club gig from 2006.

The Brooklyn Bowl warm up on Thursday and this gig last nite was the best R-n-R fix one could ask for.

To the Band and Crewe - A BIG TO DO "THANK YOU"!! Y'all brought it and as always, never let us(your fans) down.
Cheers to a successful and rockin' 2011.

Great to see all the 3DDers out in full force....Can't wait for the Classic City!

Awwwwww man, its good to be home but I gotta say the past 72 hours were amazing. Got to hang out with some old 3DD friends and met some new ones. I think everyone has said it prior, but last night (this mornings?) show was incredible. Glad me and FemRabbit could get up there and enjoy it. All of ya'll who are going to Athens, have fun and I'll be expecting updates and pics. See you all definitely in Feb @ 9:30 Club in DC, and maybe possibly in York, Pa. We'll have to see.

There were a lot more blurry ones, I can tell you that. I need to alter sides, I never have good close-ups of John. Wish I could've gotten some pics of Shonna and Kelly Hogan singing on some of those songs as well.

curious to hear how terminal 5 was. I never found it to be that bad but lots of friends and others cant stand the place.

Was it packed, sold out? Room to move around, get a beer, steal a smoke, etc etc.

Thanks. I saw where they had mentioned something about posting the Truckers show a few days ago but when I went back to check on it they had removed it.

Well the blow by blow said it all. It was an incredibly well orchestrated spectacle. A show to end all shows. I'm left with the vision of looking down on a sea of 2000 heads, from the rail to the stragglers in the back, head banging back and forth in unison to the opening of Lookout Mountain. A nation indeed. All Hail
Always go to the show

Not to be a rumor starter, but yesterday in Philly I was told (by someone who probably knows whereof he speaks) that there will be some kind of iTunes release of the NYE show.

I have some pics of Shonna and Kelly (and lots more) but need time to upload them. Just woke up, drove all the way back from Philly last night (this morning). OK, not really, I slept while UR drove.

Anyway, incredible NYE show, as were Brooklyn and Philly. NYE was something else, though. Amazing. Words can't describe. Brought our buddy who just got out of the Peace Corps, NYE was his first show! Needless to say, when we offered to bring him to Philly, he said yes. We may have a new fan. :D

The barrier between the stage and the crowd was particularly far for Terminal 5, I think it had to be 6 feet. I was using the zoom on the camera when they were at the edge of the stage. It was weird. By the end of the night the whole area was filled with balloons, which dropped at midnight. The band seemed to have fun bouncing them back at the crowd as they made their way to the stage. Much to my amazement and honor, Patterson tried to hand me a glass of champagne at midnight, but couldn't due to the lengthy barrier. I was flattered and touched at the effort and thought, though!
Oh, at midnight all the wives came out to kiss the band, and 1 of Cooley's kids came out too, it was really sweet!
At the end of the show, Kelly Hogan came out barefoot, which just struck me as cool. She really brought out Shonna, too, it was fun seeing them together. David Hood is always a treat, and Cooley doesn't stop smiling when he plays with him, which is so sweet to see.

More later, I need to get my day started.

Haha, if the woman behind me that kept yelling "Coooooooleeeeeeeeeee....Cooooooooooooooooooooooooleeeeeee" could've figured out how to get up there I'm sure she would have.

I don't know if it was sold out, but it was definitely packed on the floor and in the balconies. I thought the acoustics were above-average, which is sometimes hard to pull off in such a cavernous place. One thing that sucked--they charged for water. $3 to fill up a plastic cup.

Also, there were 2 video cameras filming the entire show. Don't know if thats for the webisodes or for something else. Possibly just archiving the show. Who knows.
