um...what kind of hangover food is CHOCOLATE!?? (for Slipkid's sake I mean..)

I could sooner do chocolate for a hangover cure than bacon sout (whatever that is); but Bloody Mary's have always worked best for me.

Bacon stout is a most excellent beer brewed with bacon. Mayfels had a nice bloody mary bar and good breakfast, if you haven't been the before.

I don't eat meat & have a queasy tummy to boot, so I'm gonna have to pass on the bacon stout. I may have to check out Mayfels, though. Thanks for the tip, Jeremy.

I met people going to the Asheville, NC shows at Forecastle in Louisville, KY and at the Alabama Shakes show in Indianapolis. Anyone in here remember the guy in the wheelchair front and center stage for Lucero in Louisville and the Alabama Shakes in Indy? I got my tickets for Patterson in Lexington, KY then heading to Asheville for a 2 night run. This should be fun!

Got my tickets for Friday. Just lost my job as well about a week ago, so the timing for this show couldn't be more perfect. I need some DBT right now.

So, I was working last night...server in a five-star restaurant, Sea Island, GA. A real classy joint. And one of my tables told me they
were from Athens. So, of course the conversation led to DBT. They plan on being in Asheville for the first night. How fucking crazy is that??

Wow. That is crazy and quite surprising. My first job in high school was cleaning a pool over there. I never met anybody there who I could picture being DBT fans today. Well, unless my dad counts. He likes hell no I ain't happy. He has worked over there a long time...

Glad to hear the clientele is shaping up. Hope they enjoy the show!

It looks like the wife and I probably only get to make it one night, leaning towards Saturday. Still hoping to make a weekend of it, but finances and babysitters might dictate otherwise.

Taking the risk of appearing computer illiterate, how do you reply directly to someone's post? Just want to be on the list, I'm in for Asheville--both shows. If the list is for something else, my bad. I don't always grasp the big picture!

We probably aren't going to be able to get a room within walking distance of the Orange Peel, so I was curious about the parking situation near the venue, mainly how much parking is available at or around the Peel.

If you decide to cab it you probably want to stay on tunnel road or towards Biltmore/Asheville mall. If you are near the airport the cabs will get pretty expensive, but as said before parking around the orange peel is not bad at all.

i stayed at the super 8 on tunnel road one year for the x-mas bash. a cab ride to downtown was about $8. right now rooms are $74 at the super 8

I was in a similar situation....maybe without the "real classy joint" part! About a month ago I was on vacation at the beach in Bald Head Island, NC and on a kayak tour. The tour guide told me that although he now lived by the ocean, in his heart he was a redneck from the mountains who had grown tired of beach life; I asked him where he was from, and he replied, "Asheville"; thus, our convesation immedately turned to DBT. As we talked, I learned the tour guide was a fan, and he told me I had made him decide to buy tickets for the show and make a trip back to Asheville. Small world, huh?!?
