DBT dream ticket..

What would you consider to be a really truely GR8 double bill including DBT?

I'd like to see, 'My Morning Jacket' & DBT on tour together. It might be a little overwhelming though catching both GR8 acts the same night

My dream bill is DBT touring with Neil Young & Crazy Horse. But since Neil appears to be done working with Crazy Horse (last shows were in March 2004), I doubt this will ever happen.
DBT and MMJ would be great too. I can guarantee Penny Lane and headhunter would be on the rail for those shows!

DBT would have to gain more popularity to make it work, however in a dream scenario I would love to see Social Distortion open up for DBT.

I had always wanted to see them opening for R.E.M. Guess I won't be seeing that now. I also missed out on the infamous Slobberbone/DBTs tours so that'd probably be second in the running. Thing is, Slobberbone hasn't played NC since reuniting a couple of years ago.

For me it would be Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons and the DBT's. Still bummed I missed this line-up in the early 2000's.

DBT + James McMurtry w/ his full band, and give him a 90 minute set + encore.

Imagine James coming back out and trading verses with Patterson on Buttholeville or Putting People On The Moon. Or Cooley coming out during McMurtry's set and singing on Choctaw Bingo.

The Rock and Roll Means Well tour was probably my DBT dream ticket, and I missed it.

I've seen a few:

DBT opening for Widespread Panic
Felice Brothers opening for DBT
John Bell opening for DBT
Booker T & the DBTs opening for DBT

What I'd really, really, really like to see is "An Evening with Drive By Truckers"

* Cooley solo set
* Patterson solo set
* DBT Rock Show
I'm sleeping under strange, strange skies.

Hhmm..at this point in time, I would really dig seeing the Chris Robinson Brotherhood warm up DBT.
As long as they both got to play two hour sets :D

As far as them opening for a legendary band, I got to see that with them & Petty. Missed the DBT/Slobberbone tour, but did get to see The Drams open for DBT, which was amazing. Have always wanted to see Glossary open for them, but never have made it to one of those shows.

Something that hasn't happened and I'd love to see would be a Mike Cooley/Chris Knight solo show with both playing acoustic sets. Two of my favorite songwriters ever, that would be something I'd travel a long way to witness.

Dream Ticket I Missed: DBT with Son Volt (2 nights at the Fillmore about 6 years ago; each band alternated as Headliner)

Led Zeppelin and DBT. Led Zeppelin opening
I've never taken a pissbreak during a DBT show but if I had it would have been during Dancing Ricky.

You and me both.

I don't even remember what I missed the show for, but I know it wasn't something I couldn't have worked around.

Close to DBT/MMJ, but DBT/Flaming Lips. The Dark and Light sides of life's complex coin; both confront how to persist with joy in the face of all the crazy fucked up shit life throws at you. Do You Realize/World of Hurt, anyone?

That being said, I count myself incredibly lucky to have seen several nights of the Rock and Roll Means Well tour. Those are both bands I would do serious road trips for no questions asked, two of my top three bands. Likewise Lucero/DBT, and Dexateens/DBT (without the two of top three part).

Yes, but the other brother, Michael, has an extremely badass car. Plus it talks.

Clutch/DBT but DBT would have to do a full on 100% Rock Show...none of the pretty songs like Santa Fe, etc. Not that there's anything wrong with those songs, some of my favorites are the slower songs.

Also slightly off thread, but Chris Knight is quite good live. I was fairly reluctantly dragged by a bandmate to see him, and most definitely enjoyed the live experience much more than what my friend had played for me beforehand.

DBT, J Roddy, Lucero, and the Shakes (+ Booker T) are about as perfect as you can get (other than MMJ)..
DC was an incredible dream-like lineup

NY & CH would be the dream bill.

I don't know if you could get much better than some of the ones i've been privelidged to see though:

Ryan Bingham/DBT
Don Chambers/DBT
James McMurtry (w/band)/DBT
Centro Matic/DBT

Realistic:

Lucero
Dexateens

Possible:

James McMurtry
Bottle Rockets
Any Warren Haynes vehicle
Tedeschi/Trucks or Tedeschi or Trucks

Stretch:

Peter Wolf (w/ DBT as his band; I know this makes no sense on paper, but trust me, it would kick all kinds of ass)

Dream:

The Original Allman Brothers Band
The Original Lynyrd Skynyrd
Otis Redding
What used to be is gone and what ought to be ought not to be so hard
