Sixteen hour drive to B'ham. Tempting as it is, I don't think that long a roadtrip is practical. But a Cooley solo show..... Maybe get a few people to split the driving. Might be doable.

I have a few recordings and a DVD of some solo shows he did back in 2004 or 2005 and they are great. I'm seriously tempted to make the 6-hour drive down from KY just for this since it might be years from now until I get the chance again.

Pardon my ignorance, but what can you expect from a Cooley solo show? Does he have "solo" material? Do cover songs? Or is it just him doing his DBT stuff?

I would rather do Athens on one hand, so I get to see all ya'll... but this is a lot more practical in my situation, I can drive there and back, no hotel, tickets cheaper etc...

BUT ... athens has all ya'll, a full band, alabama shakes, etc etc etc...

After Athens devastated my funds, there was no way I could afford this myself -- and though I cringe to think of what I promised my dad in exchange for this show, I think it's MORE than worth it. Wild horses could not keep me from this show!!!!
