Here's another one:

"Drive-By Front Man Sticks to Basic Sounds"
http://www.emorywheel.com/detail.php?n=31087

^^Sounds like that's an adamant NO on synthesized sounds making their way onto any future DBT albums. Makes me a very happy camper! :)

In the latest issue of Men's Health (the one with Kenny Chesney on the cover) there's an article about southern cooking. One of the chefs pictured is wearing a DBT hat.

Its probably the guy down in Charleston, SC who was on Iron Chef. I can't remember his name or restaurant.

Fun read; an article from Blurt Online where they asked a bunch of musicians what advice they would give to up-and-comers. Scroll down to see Patterson's comments:

So, as we look forward to a summer filled with angry fortnights, which talk as if Puritanical virtue ought to be enshrined as the “natural” norm rather than heralded as a grace-filled exception, allow me to recommend some modern-day prophets who are willing to admit that they are in the same “cauldron of unholy loves” as the rest of us. The Truckers’ form of mercy is not one that is poured down from a priestly class that stands above the rest of us, but it is carried and passed in buckets across a chain of tortured believers all trying to put out the same fire. So, instead of taking to the barricades of civil disobedience with a righteous apocalyptic fervor, maybe we can just stop and turn to each other:

I will bring you buckets of mercy

And hold your hand when you’re crossing the street

Pay your bail if you need it

I will be your saving grace…

Buckets of Mercy

Interesting priestly perspective on Go Go Boots..

I've only recently learned how much Johnny Knoxville loves DBT. Was there something posted about this a while back?

Johnny Knoxville is a huge fan of all things alt. country - I got an eye opener when I saw his first cousin Roger Alan Wade play before Patterson at Finsterfest earlier this year. Actually spent a good bit of the day talking to RAW but not even knowing it was him - I thought his music was all novelty songs, but noooo - his album Deguello Motel is as good a singer-songwriter album as I've ever heard.

I guess it's cool that Knoxville is such a big fan but whenever I happen upon his show on the Outlaw Country channel on XM/Sirius I can't switch channels fast enough.

I'm not a big fan of the celebrity DJ thing in general (with a few very notable exceptions such as Dylan and Petty) which seemed to be a bigger thing on Sirius than it was on XM but the Knoxville show is the fucking pits and gives the Outlaw Country channel a bad rap overall. Shooter Jennings also isn't doing them any favors. I love Sabbath, the Beatles and CCR as much as the next person but it's not what I tune into the Outlaw Country channel to hear.

The Steve Earle show ain't too bad but Shooter and Knoxville make me cringe.

Yeah, I don't mind Earle's show but I very seldom hear it since I only have XM/Sirius in my car.

Seconded. Once I hear his voice I don't stick around to hear what music he's playing. It's shit like that on the Outlaw Country channel that really makes me miss X Country on XM. They weren't perfect either but I also never heard any Sabbath or other stuff on there that was completely out of place format-wise.

I posted it but I believe it was in the Random YouTube Goodness thread where it probably got lost in the shuffle when it most likely deserved a thread all it's own. When it originally aired it also included a link to more individual videos of performances from the Old Grey Whistle Test and other British programs.

Hood says, the band's future is still largely uncertain. :( :?

Also, Gabe Vodicka is a bad ass name and I've never seen 'literarily' used before. Great word.

But also...

"I don't know when the Truckers will be making another record," Hood says. "But we will. We definitely will. I've got some pretty good songs here."
