And yes, BTB, I used "vicariously" just for you.
Sorry to hear it. Hope I see you at the Hangout Festival again next year. Crossing my fingers for a return visit by DBT.

or a Patterson solo show...either way, I defintely want to do Hangout again...
Locked and loaded for the Fri and Sat shows! Flying in Fri morning and staying at the Marriot. This will be my first time ever setting foot in the state of GA, let alone Athens, the 40 Watt, etc.. Beyond stoked for this weekend! Does the 3DD crew usually meet up at any point before the shows? It'd be nice to have beers w all you crazy folks...

You shouldn't have any problem hooking up with folks at the hotel or across the street at the Dazed or on the line. Just introduce yourself

Yeah you cant walk out of your room at the Courtyard without bumping into 3DD people in the hallway and lobby. The Flicker Bar or RPM which are just down the block from the 40 Watt will be packed with 3DDer's in the hours leading up to the show.
Looks like a bunch of little whiny fucksticks to me
Add 2 more from the UK to the count. My good buddies John and Lorna Robertson from Scotland are in. They don't really post here but have been to tons of DBT shows both in the US and, well, all over the place. You never know where you'll see the 2 of them. Great folks!

So I leave the countdown all day long figuring one of you degenerates would take care of today of all days but noooooooooooooo. If you want a job done right you have to do it yourself.
We call him Scooby Do, but Scooby doesn’t do. Scooby, is not involved
My plans may be leaning towards missing this years run which totally blows but have to make an inevitable sacrifice. The only good thing about missing the homecoming shows is avoiding the Sunday to almost Thursday post-rock-show-week funk/sickness/depression/ten-years-off-my-life-expectancy-taken hangover.............but that funk still reeks of reminiscing about great memories of drunkenly falling over side-to-side on the Thursday show to Southern Thing with Cubfan and his wife, watching a hungover dude dive into the Dazed Inn pool at 3pm on a 40* day, grabbing 11am bloody mary salad bars, catching some playoff football at Cutters knowing a rock show is amidst, grabbing two pepperoni slices and a beer for less than $5 at Little Italy's pre-show as a ritual each night, random conversations in the smokers corral outside the Watt, waking up to a room with a dude under the sink and between the bed not really understanding how they got there, walking up and down Reese St. from the Dazed Inn and seeing the 40 Watt in sight, scaling down the wall at the Dazed Inn at happy hour and spilling my roadie in the process, climbing the wall of the Dazed Inn at 3am and somehow losing a belt or shoe in the process, meeting Woodduck after a four year process, and just seeing the fine folks of the DBT nation each second of the time spent in Athens. Have fun y'all. There's always an outside chance but definitely sad the streak is most likely broken.

Consistently holding bullshit up to the light of reason
Just got Friday/Saturday tix and booked at Dazed Inn. First homecoming shows for me, but this will be my 12th and 13th shows overall. Too bad I don't have 1 more under my belt or the dates would match.
I thought I had heard 800 at some point but thinking about it that seems impossible, doesn't it? I was secretly hoping that these shows might be moved to the GA Theater. I love the 40 Watt as much as the next guy but I'm dying to see a show in that venue and I don't exactly get to Athens much. Oh well, I'm not complaining because MY TICKETS ARE PURCHASED.
"Mamma always said electric guitars will give you herpes."
If I remember correctly, the place is designed to hold somewhere around 600, but from I've heard from locals and people who have worked there, they'll pack in 800-1,000 for shows if they can.
I don't know about the numbers, but it will certainly be asshole to bellybutton everywhere.
