OK. This is going to warrant serious consideration. Labor Day in the Big Easy. I like the sound of that.

This sounds too good to pass up...
just wondering if anyone has a hotel suggestion close to Tip's?
The Missus and i have been wanting to get to New Orleans for sometime, what a better way to spend the weekend.

It's been over 5 years, but for my weekend excursions to Tips/NOLA I stayed at the Days Inn on Canal, its across town but I just took the trolley.

Not sure about specific hotels but you should look for something Uptown or in the Garden District. There are a few hotels on St. Charles Ave. that are a short cab ride away. Really anywhere you stay in the city (French Quarter, Warehouse District, Downtown CBD) are a short cab ride. I live in Jefferson Parish and anytime I want to stay downtown, I use Priceline. Put in 3 or 4 stars and $50-$70 bucks and you should get something nice. Lots of tourists in town for Labor Day weekend so book early. Saw them at Tips last year and it was an awesome show. Started at around 11 and played til about 2 am. Good luck!

thanks for the info Greenville and Smitty...
Looking into the hotel res. right now.

BTW: tried to 'watch' the live feed from Tip's last time round,
audio worked, but the video was a disaster, still listened to it w/ other members of 3DD...

Me too. Just can't make it work (barring some sort of miracle). I'm sure they'll be epic.

Don't know how I could live with myself if I missed this. I'm trying to wait to hear from the little old man I backed into in the grocery store parking lot on my way to the Asheville shows. If his estimate for my damage isn't too terrible, I'm in. Otherwise, I'll have to stay my broke ass at home and make restitution. Lesson learned: do not rely on the rearview mirror - always turn your head all the way around a look before pulling out of your parking spot - especially when you are distracted about hurrying up to get to the RAWK show!
