Not sure husband is happy to share my DBT obsession....I guess if one had to choose between Athens an NOLA it's a no-brainer, right? I thought they were taking a break from touring soon. Y'all think 40 watt 2012 is a sure thing? If, and I say IF we can't go go both I will sell my Athens tix to a 3'DDer. :) But if had to choose it's NOLA, right? (pls dont let tix potential color your answer...)

O.K., since I've convinced myself I'm in; I can't wait. I hope I see everybody in the Big Fuckin' Easy.

Don't u just hate it when somebody knows u that well?

SCRed: I think I already came down pretty clearly on the side of NOLA, but in case u missed it, yep, if i could, it'd be NOLA for sure.

I'd say 40 Watt 2012 is very likely, but can't promise, of course. If I could find a way to do both NOLA and 40 Watt 2012, I would do both, it would be too hard for me to choose.

I broached the subject of NOLA and did not immediately get shot down!! :D May go ahead and buy the NOLA tix. That would mean DBT in July, August AND September!! How awesome if it works out.....

BTB and CG, thx for the advice. I really need to meet the 3DD crew!

In, tickets purchased.

The soon to be wife is a teacher, so if this wasnt labor day weekend she wouldnt be able to go.

Love that city, gotta give up on Athens now, but soooo worth it.

I'm thinking more of a support fund. Everybody contributes $5 and somebody gets to go? I dunno, just shooting from the hip here, but desperate times call for desperate measures... Anyone got a better idea? Besides getting a job, i mean.

I love New Orleans, I love Tipitinas and, most of all, I love the DBT. I would kill to go to this show, but I can't. But, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Truckers show-up on the HBO show Treme in the third season using footage from one of these shows. Treme is getting ready to start shooting the third season, they shoot tons of scenes from Tipitinas with all kinds of bands, George Pelaconos one of the producers and writers for the show is a huge Truckers fan and he's already gotten his good buddy Spider Stacey from the Pogues to be on the show in the second season. So, if you're going to one of these shows, look for the Treme production crew and get your face on that TV. I know, pure speculation, or maybe fantasy? Either way, have a great time and please provide your always comprehensive reports.

First non-festival DBT show I saw was at Tip's - they def bring it in the crescent city/best Rock Show I've seen.
If I had to choose one venue/one town to see DBT, it'd def be Tips & NOLA.
E quindi uscimmo a riveder le stelle.

Southern Decadence is quite the celebration. Probably your best chance ever for an assless chaps sighting.

Here's something some of the 3DD men (or women?) may want to check out...
Chi Chi LaRue, the "Diva of Decadence," returns in 2011 for his 14th anniversary to host The Big Dick Contest. Not sure what the winner gets.

My best friend and roommate, who is a gay man, said he just can't take Southern Decadence - I can't repeat his exact quote here - it's more appropriate for the Night Crew thread.

We spent New Year's Eve in the Bourbon Pub one year - which is deemed as the Gay Epicenter of New Orleans. You can hear the beat a thumpin' for sure.

The theme for 2011 is Viva New Orleans: What happens in New Orleans stays in New Orleans - sounds like good advice for all.

They even have camels in their parade...

Should just add to the enjoyment of the weekend.
