Home in one piece and so damn glad that I made the trip to Asheville. It was kick ass and they were on all night. The highlights for me were Marry Me and Angels and Fuselage. I have never seen that live and am so glad I finally got to. Patterson seemed to really enjoy himself Saturday night. There were no major incidents, just a few annoying people, but overall an excellent crowd. Great company too - nice to meet a few more of you from 3DD. The 8 1/2 hour ride down wasn't too bad. The nearly 10 1/2 hour ride home was a bit more difficult but still tolerable thanks to more great company. That being said I would do it all over again, any time, to see DBT. Sure wish I could make Athens but that just aint gonna happen. Really hoping that DBT rolls through this area (hell anywhere within a 5 hour drive) again very soon.
I just want to stay in that better time and place....

Hey guys - first post... lurked here for setlists and things a few times, but just wanted to say these were shows #9 and #10 for me and they were the best ones yet, as expected. I've seen 'em in Tuscaloosa, Oxford, Huntsville (the Isbell sit-in), 4 times at the Orange Peel, the 1 Harvest Records acoustic thing, twice at Bonnaroo (once with Booker T). Can't get enough, can't wait for #11. I still have to hear Tornadoes anyways...
I have like, four full songs on video, not sure of the audio quality yet, but I'll post them when I feel less lazy.

Great shows! I enjoyed Fri's a little better, i just enjoy it when they're going back & using their full catelog. Had a great time hanging with Lone Wolf & Mike & his gf and it was great meeting some new folks like Penny & others!

Ditto - I am reasonably certain we are at this point - everyone else: Don't ask....its too long and convoluted a story to go into without drinking beer together so we'll have to make some plans if you want to hear it. Penny - Sorry you're not gonna make the GA Theater shows but at least its for a good cause.

Re: The Orange Peel -- Asheville, NC 6/24 & 6/25
Well I'm finally home from my extended weekend. Lurleen and I were staying at her mom's and took some extra time for hanging with her family, enjoying Asheville, and even got to see Biltmore. As for the shows, I can't add really add anything that hasn't been said. Amazing. The band never fails to impress. The Hell No I Ain't Happy from Saturday night, with it's impromptu call and response from the crowd, is still stuck in my head. Top notch.
On a personal note some hearty thank yous go out to those who helped with and attended my surprise Birthday party Saturday. I was completely surprised, and couldn't have had a better time. Good friends, good times, an early birthday celebration all topped off by an incendiary rock show. I'm not sure it could get much better.

It was great meeting a lot of y'all and we had such a great time. Somehow, I got a viscious bit of food poisoning that kicked in on the ride back to Charlotte. That knocked me on my ass for a few days. Thankfully, it had the good sense to wait until after the rock shows had ended. As always, I had a blast and can't wait to do it again. (though Kelly says I have to pack my own food next time. )

Re: The Orange Peel -- Asheville, NC 6/24 & 6/25
I drove into Asheville from Charlotte to visit family and go to these shows. I think these were the best two shows I have ever seen from DBT. Friday night was just incredible. I grew up in Asheville and moved away before the peel opened. There has never been anything like that in Asheville before, it's good to see someone investing in something nice and booking bands that are still relevant. Before all you got was washed up old hippie bands with $50 admission. No offense to washed up old hippie bands.
