I wouldn't count on the spares. The Orange Peel always sells out quickly and folks are desperately grabbing for spares. Just a warning based on first-hand experience.

This place is owned by a friend of Patterson's, is just a short walk from the venue, and is reasonably priced.

I've spoken to their event coordinator and they have a back room we can use.

I'm guessing that I could probably count on the following regulars to show...

Me, TC, Jonicont & wife, BigTom, PennyLane, Erdlivz, BostonReb, OBL, Maluca, Sarah from Asheville (who doesn't really post here), Jason from Asheville (who doesn't really post here)...

Who else is in???

Event coordinator man does need a headcount to be able to reserve the back room.

Holler back y'all...

i'd be in for this, i don't post all that often but i'd def like to meet some fellow 3dder's :D

I'm buying show tickets, not sure if I can actually afford the trip. So count me in until I'm counted out.

couple things. first off I am pissed! wife is trying to plan a trip to Tahoe and it will be on these dates! can't miss a hometown show!

second downtown inn (old days inn) is not 1/2 block from venue! close but not that close!! it's actually pretty much the same distance from four points. downtown inn is .5 mile and four points is .6 mile

anyway downtown inn is really bad! spend the extra money! stuff is expensive here in the summer. there are also lots of places on tunnel road that are only a short cab ride away (probably not much cheaper though).

asheville brewing is my work! I work at the other location though. GREAT beer! oh and fuck the back room! it'll be summer and there is a HUGE patio there ;)

if we don't go to Tahoe and we can get a sitter we're in. really can't miss hometown shows!

any other questions feel free to ask.

Would anyone be interested in a kayak/tubing trip on Saturday? 11-12ish? A 3 hour tour. That might make my head explode. River trip->dinner->rock shows, oh my.

if you're just trying for asheville airport try greenville,sc or maybe knoxville or charlotte. greenville is just a tad over an hour drive and knox and charlotte are about 2 hours.

I would really, really, really like to do this...Here's the rub...my sister and my two nephews are flying in from California and my cousin is flying in from Houston and we are all staying at my Moms' so TC can meet the family. I already feel a little guilty (just a little) about leaving the house to go to two rock shows and I think if we said, "Oh yeah, and we're going rafting Saturday, too..." we might just get put out on the curb.

I had asked my Mom about maybe doing a family river thing on Sunday, but my nephew is only a couple of weeks old and sister is breast-feeding, so I don't think that'll work this go around.

The other fun thing out-of-towners might want to consider is the zip line up by my Moms' house in Barnardsville. Navitat. http://www.navitat.comTons of fun!

Please count me in for the next trip. You know that our mutual friend Lara is a river rafting guide on the French Broad in the summer, right? She works about an hour or so away from Asheville in Tennessee. I'm sure she would love to guide some 3dders down the French Broad. She's going to be out of town on the weekend of this show, but look her up some other weekend. I'll find out the name of her company for you.

Also - Jason from Asheville (doesn't post here) works for an outdoor gear store and is very in-tune with all sorts of outdoorsy folks and activities. PM me if you don't have his phone number.

as long as you're back in time for dinner at Asheville Brewing at 5. You had better put in the water at 10:00 a.m.

I have Jason's number. I'm pretty sure I'll be at Asheville. I'm still working out my schedule at work and possibly moving. I'll definitely be at dinner.

I am flying into Richmond then driving down with friends, cuts the airfare by more than half. See what it would cost to fly in to a cheaper airport and if you are willing to drive the rental car might be a cheaper alternative than flying directly Asheville.
