Another way to spend your money on something you've already got...
Lost Highway will commemorate its anniversary throughout 2011 by releasing 20 different titles from its extensive and diverse catalog on limited edition clear vinyl. This series will begin on Jan. 25 with releases of Ryan Adams’ Gold and the soundtrack of O Brother, Where Art Thou?. That will be followed on Feb. 15 with releases of Hayes Carll’s KMAG YOYO and Drive-By Truckers’ Southern Rock Opera.
*(edit)Whoops, Lost highway and not New West, nevermind.* But I am sure that they are still going to receive profits from it and that sounds pretty badass to me. May have to buy this one and pass my other copy onto someone in need, or just keep them both.

Forgive my ignorance but why are they reissuing it? Ive just started my dbt collection and I want all things dbt but what makes this different than the one you can find online?

Not to be a smartass but I suggest reading the very first post in this thread.

You think I didn't before I posted? Jeez, thanks for the help buddy.

I like SRO better without "Moved".
Not me - I know lot's of people on here think the opposite, but it adds to the story "arc" to me, and it's definitely my favorite Malone tune.
That's cool, just a difference of opinion. Moved just doesn't feel right to me coming after Zip City. Although I have to say I don't really have a favorite Malone tune. His stuff just doesn't do it for me. Despite that I will say in terms of album sequencing, I think "Cassie's Brother" fits well between Flowers and Factory or SRO, even though I don't care for the song that much.
I have the reissue w/o moved. But I could always give that copy to my son if; 1. the reissue has moved 2. the original artwork and booklet are included otherwise I'm happy with what I got. I'm not a big Malone fan either but his stuff is part of the history of the band. That's not saying I dislike his stuff
and that pussy Alec Baldwin blew that girl away, and speaking of pussy Steve got it all!

Like I said, I wasn't trying to be a smartass but it says right there in the first post that it's being reissued on clear vinyl because of the 10th anniversary of Lost Highway Records. Perhaps I misunderstood your question but if so, I'm not sure how.

I received a copy of the booklet with the first pressing. If I'm not mistaken, this is the second time SRO has been reissued on vinyl. Also, if I understand correctly, the music isn't mastered for vinyl therefore it's of inferior audio quality. If that info is incorrect by all means correct me. I know some of the Ryan releases have been downright shitty and not just from an audio standpoint.
Came home for lunch, and it was there for me. Looks nice. Clear vinyl is pretty spiffy.
As for the vinyl sound issue, etc--I didn't have this on vinyl yet (oddly one of the ones I don't have on a slab), so it was basically me just pulling the trigger finally.

Same here. And I'm certainly no audiophile, but I think it sounds fine. Definitely not noticeably better or worse than the others.
As far as it being a money grab? Well, duh. But it's still pretty cool, and $16 shipped isn't a bad deal at all. I'm satisfied.
Lost Highway is notorious for terrible quality vinyl and even the re-issue of SRO was not up to par with the original.
This is strictly a marketing ploy to take advantage of fanboys needing any and everything to do with DBT.
Their QC for records is terrible...same goes for the Ryan Adams albums.
Marty's right, it doesn't sound too hot to my ears, and isn't it the fact its on clear vinyl that's the problem? I'm pretty sure its widely accepted that any coloured vinyl is sonically inferior to black(and picture discs a big no-no), although maybe clear vinyl(not technically coloured I guess) is superior to black and I just got unlucky! On my copy any songs that start quietly, or just with rhythm guitar are spoiled by crackling or distortion. Not too bad sound when the full band playing though, guess it masks the snap crackle and pop. I'm late to buying this on vinyl, so pretty pissed off if the original had a booklet. And miss the 180g that the later albums have.
