I like my bones the way they are, so I will not run on ice, but it is actually pretty to run in snow - for a short distance. This from a woman who has only done that once or twice down here.

I hate to be a giant wuss but if this weather keeps up I'll definitely will be visiting the treadmill instead of the road. I did a quick 5 mile run in the snow/ice today amid many strange and puzzled looks. It wasn't too bad but the temp was about 20 degrees higher than it's supposed to be Friday. Me running outside will be a game time decision. I hope it works out so I can have a nice run with new friends instead of a lonely boring treadmill one.

Or worse, a not at all lonely one on the treadmill w/ a half dozen people standing around glaring at u when they're not looking at their watches and tapping their feet.
What used to be is gone and what ought to be ought not to be so hard
fucking boring is way to nice. It's beyond fucking boring even with headphones and tv. I've spent too much of my time on a treadmill lately because of the weather I don't know how much more I can handle without going crazy. I hope the weather works out for all of us.
Just out of curiosity did anyone go for a run Friday morning? I ended up going for about a 6 mile run thru downtown to Milledge to Lumpkin and then I wound thru campus by the stadium and back up Lumpkin and wound thru downtown back to the Indigo. It was a nice run. Would have been nice though to have had company.
I swear I thought this was a thread to keep a running account of the DBT shows in Athens this past weekend. Now I see it is literally as advertised an Athens Running Thread. Boy do I feel dumb.
By the time you drop them I'll be gone
And you'll be right where they fall the rest of your life
Anyone up for some Athens jogging this year? I'm only doing 4 miles these days, and very well could be too tired and hungover to get serious, but just curious.

Tracy & I usually run at least twice in Athens but not sure about this year. I'm dealing with a twinge in my hip & she's mentioned it would be nice to take a few days off from running. We're both moderate runners, 70-110 miles a month depending on season etc.
Turn you demons into walls of goddamned noise and sound.

Ramonz,
I may join you, but I doubt I'll do four miles...nor will I do 26 miles in honor of zip city.
I use an elliptical machine at home regularly and run occasionally. I've done a few 5k races but that's it for me in regards to distance.
When I travel I usually use the hotel workout rooms...makes me feel better and gives me more energy for long nights.
After long and serious study over several years, I can only conclude that this thread is the runner's equivalent of "if I break that piece of cake in half all the calories fall out." Or IOW, "if i talk about running in Athens enough it will be just like if I actually run in Athens so why yes, of course I'll have another tonight."
