3. This being a DBT board, i think the odds are kinda stacked on this one, don't you? And I'd dump those Phish tix sooner rather than later to avoid the last minute rush and market collapse

Good problem to have. I hope I get 12/30 or 1/1 for Phish at MSG and then I'll buy my Terminal 5 ticket. I'm keeping my finger crossed for the Phish mail order. But it will be a really tough ticket to get.

I would probably go see DBT, who I like a helluva lot more than Phish, but if you're looking for a true spectacle, I would say go with Phish on this one. DBT doing something special still probably won't equal the theatrics of a Phish NYE.

You really can't go wrong either way, though. I wish I had your dilemma.

Lol, saw them last year and had a great time as usual, and my high school coffee table social insight/generalization/judgment. And the crowd in NY on NYE. Plus his phish friends described the scene best, they think of DBT fans as trailer park people. But go ahead, attack me. Now if it had been phish back in the late 90's, wouldnt have minded that. Thanks for letting me know i am not that cool, i had such a high opinion of myself but not that you have set me straight I can now relate to the rest of the world. I did Phish last year in Miami for NYE, all four nights.. It was Ok, the countdown was weak and took 8 minutes of boring to get back to the music.. When I saw the Truckers are playing NYC, Ive been begging my girl to go with me even though I already bought tickets.. Now that Phish is playing MSG the night before and after DBT NYE I have almost sealed the deal with her to go.. I also have a friend who is telling me I will regret my decision if I choose DBT over PH, but Trey is sober now and I know the Truckers will be the party I want to be at..

I was into Phish for about year back when PON came out.
Went to see them a few times. Spent most of each show trippin' in the parking lot.
In the end, I just got bored with them. No substance, IMO.
To each there own, but I need my music to have some bite.

DBT without a doubt.
