The Cowboy has a new heart

Post by Jonicont »

Dean had the heart transplant last night at Vanderbilt in Nashville. It's pumping and things are looking good. Give a thanks to the donor and their family

Great news!!! Thank you for letting us know. I am riding through Mississippi and was just thinking about Dean and Beth!

Thanks for letting us know, Doc! The last I heard last night Dean was getting a sponge bath…

I’m glad that things have gone well, and I hope that they continue to progress!!!

All the best.

My father had a liver transplant 15 years ago. I'm a big fan of the transplant.

At the show last night in Austin, Patterson gave a lovely speech about Dean and Beth and how he officiated their wedding. When he told the crowd that Dean was getting a new heart, everyone cheered and the crowd started chanting "Dean! Dean! Dean!". Pretty cool moment. Best wishes to Dean and his new ticker!
Love each other, Motherfuckers!

Here's to a speedy recovery for Dean. 1 of my best friends had a heart transplant (lives in England) a few years ago & is doing great now. He had a huge battle with COVID but he's a tough SOB & beat that, too. Not before the docs told his wife to say her goodbyes & get ready to raise 2 toddlers on her own. Nathan is part cat, multiple lives thank God.

We can only be thankful. Sign that donor card and tell your family that you did

I hope that things are still progressing well for Dean and Beth!

After Dean heals, I bet if he posed for a picture similar to the Cowboy Heart video above, copies of said picture would fetch a pretty penny in Nuccis Space auction!!!

I’d buy one and frame it for sure!

RedCelt's wife sent me screenshots of Facebook updates throughout as Lurleen posted them Friday into Saturday into Sunday. So happy it worked out for TC and so thankful for his organ donor.

Dr. John, if one wanted to become an organ/tissue donor and had recently renewed their driver's license without noting it, how would one go about it?

UPDATE--it's been a scary two days. Dean was unable to follow directions or respond appropriately to questions. Fortunately he started coming around yesterday afternoon so it seems it's a medication induced problem and not a a stroke. I've been facetiming with him and he's definitely improving.

Thanks for the update, Doc.

Like several of us, I’m not on Facebook.

Please tell Dean and Beth that the Heathen nation is pulling for them…I’m sure they already know!!!

And a further update: there is still a LONG way to go after such a major surgery, but I spoke with Dean yesterday, and as I said to Doc, he sounds...like Dean.

Also, by accident, I was on the line when the new Supervising RN came in, so I heard Dean more or less effortlessly interacting, responding with alacrity, and again, just being Dean.

He's posted on the morning Royale thread on my FB each of the last two mornings, and is indeed very much improving and coming around so well.

If things went according to the plan as of this morning, the Cowboy is now out of the hospital and living in temporary quarters near the hospital. Amazing. Just amazing.

A cause for a hearty "hell yeah" if ever there was one.

The "loosed upon the world" part, not the coffee part, necessarily.
All it takes is one wicked heart, a pile of money, and a chain of folks just doing their jobs
