Re: Best DBT Shows of 2010

I would have given my eye teeth to be at that Ramble show in Levon's barn. And I just read the thread on the New Year's Eve show. Good grief! To anyone that saw that one or both, my hat's off to you. I realize that I am firmly in the majority here but I liked the first Richmond show (Friday night) s...

Re: The Big To-Do is #43 on NPR's "Reader's Choice" List

I see Bettye LaVette - Interpretations: The British Rock Songbook didn't make the list but that's not that surprising since it is a reader's choice list and most people have no taste.
The Robert Plant disc Band of Joy is the shit.
And The Big To Do is waaaay too low at #43.

creepy if he's singing it to his lady's daughter extra-creep if he's singing it to her son I never thought there was anything sexual between the singer and his girlfriend’s daughter. Can’t something emotional rather than sexual come over the singer when the daughter is around since they lived toget...

This quote from Smitty's article cracked me up. "My initial impression of his playing evolved loosely around the five stages of grief," he says. "One, denial: he can't be doing that! Two, anger: why the fuck can't I do that? Three, bargaining: will you do that on our record? Four, dep...

I don't know how much work is involved editing those together (I would assume a lot) but they look and sound fantastic! Cooley is killing it at the end of Lookout Mountain.

Thanks Jonicont.

I'm sure there are others here that know the history of The Truckers and Alley Katz which is the venue that hosted the show weeny posted above betrter than i do.

Didn't they blow the sound system up there one night and cause a power outage to a few of the surrounding businesses?

We're staying at the Marriott. A couple of quick questions, since I've never been to the National before: Do shows usually start on time? Tickets say 8pm, will there be any music before 9? Man you guys are over this. It was just uploaded yesterday.

What a great fucking song! I'm impressed. (If I talk to Patterson on Saturday I'll have to tell him.)

I love the Neff guitar part and of course Cooley is laying down a bad ass guitar solo at the end.
