Re: New Letter From Patterson 1/18/2020

Looking forward to the book.

The album too, obviously. But if there's one guy who really does have a great book in him, it's Mr Hood.

Re: The Unraveling

Since my honey got me the pre-order for Christmas (I am so thankful I found someone who gets me!) I am going to wait for the official release to hear all of the songs at the same time in their official capacity. So it looks like I'm signing off of this thread for a week and a half. But I will leave...

Re: The Unraveling

I don't find that interview grim. I find it angry.

It has a "fuck you" vibe. Which is always a good vibe to have on a rock and roll album.

Re: The Unraveling- New Record out 1/31

I have been a grateful member of this board for a while now. Haven't posted much ever or in a long time. Just enjoy what others contribute. I have met people on here at shows and maybe the next day and never have met anyone other than a very cool person. I'm about 60 shows in, been to 3 Homecomings...

Re: The Unraveling- New Record out 1/31

Broke down and listened to Armageddon’s Back In Town. I sort of wish I hadn’t. It may grow on me and probably will but after one listen it sounds like this would go on a new Patterson solo album. The chorus was catchy and the coda was pretty cool but that’s about all I can say for it. I really don’...

Re: 2020 Tour Dates! THERE ARE SO MANY

Pleased to see so many European dates. Gonna be hard to pick which ones to attend. Can’t do all. Leeds seems a bit random. Dublin could be fun. Dublin will be fun; that's pretty much guaranteed. Dublin's overrated  . Of course, it may not be overrated as a DBT destination. I'll definitely ...

Re: The Unraveling- New Record out 1/31

I like Armageddon’s back in town. Seems similar to the recent Patterson tunes. But that cover..ugh. Not feeling it at all. Looks like something we all could do on our phones in a couple of minutes. But I am excited for the new album and will be ordering the presale vinyl. I miss Wes Freed too. Some...

Re: The Unraveling?

So. "Grievance Merchants" is the second Cooley song? Has that been played live yet anywhere? Just 2 Cooley songs after 3 1/2 years? There's been some mention of both guys having some writer's block this time. I like an even split if we can get it, but they've got to work with what they have. That w...

Re: The Unraveling?

Only 9 tracks?

Is one of the songs going to be a long form epic or is this going to be a fast and loose 30 minute album like the ramones used to make?

Re: Once They Banned Imagine

I always think a good writer manages to get his personality into his work. There's a likeable laidback quality to Cooley's songwriting which, I guess, reflects who he is but also leads to him being underrated imo. He writes fun, often funny songs. But they're full of fantastic lines that you almost ...

BTW, I dunno if he said this at any of the other shows, but at Houston Patterson mentioned that this might be released as a single.

Re: Fall 2019 Tour

Loved the houston show.

Great venue. Great new song being debuted (Armageddon's Back in town ) and wonderful reaction to thoughts and prayers after PH's emotional intro.

And, after being a fan few a few years, this was my first DBTs gig. So, in short I have enjoyed my evening.

Re: Newbies--Introduce yourselves

I discovered DBT two months back. I'm 37 and managed to miss this band for almost 38 years. In fairness, I live in Wales and this most american of awesome american bands has never been huge here. Because we're dumb like that. I love this band. The past few months haven't been great and the copy of S...
