Only time I saw JI with DBT Dec 30, 2006, he played with Centro-matic entire set in ATL at Variety Playhouse. Great show, turned me on to DBT bigtime.

No 206 to Denver? Maybe tonight. What happened to that song anyways? Does he ever play it anymore?

Who can I expect to see at this show? Ladonna and I will be joined by my niece and her boyfriend, both longtime fans but virgins of the ROCK show. My nephew who sports a Cooleybird tattoo may also be attending if work allows. We'll be making a weekend of it at the Highland Inn in Little Five Points...

Re: Dexateens -lots of info here
New material, but they have since recorded another record with Mark Nevers. No idea when that will be released. Elliott also has another record under his belt with his punk band RATTLER that rips real hard. Very reminiscent of Teenager-era Dexateens. Is Rattler out? Kind of like a CS Lewis punk mas...

Re: Never Had Such A Good Time/The Grateful Dead Thread
Searching high and low for a copy of Deadicated the 1991 tribute album. Any suggestions short of the $55 charged by Amazon? Arista being closed up is not helpful and RCA does not have it in print either. Listening to Bobby and Phish right now. Killer. I listened to Phish a lot in the 1990s, not much...

Re: DBT Albums: Week 11 Go-Go Boots
Take TBTD and GGB and combine them into one DBT album and one PH Album. Makes sense then. Cooley's songs are mostly older ones on these IIRC. 1. I Do Believe - PH album 2. Go-Go Boots - PH 3. Dancin' Ricky - delete (Sorry Shonna, luv ya but...) 4. Cartoon Gold 5. Ray's Automatic Weapon 6. Everybody...

Willie Sugarcapps, a Mobile, AL based supergroup of sorts comprised of several solo acts and combos, including Will Kimbrough, Sugarcane Jane and Grayson Capps. Part one of an AL.com series about Alabama bands from the '90s that never 'made it,' but packed plenty of bars and showed many fans a great time. The guy from A&M Records showed up with a well-known blonde porn star on his arm. He'd arrived at Sunset Strip nightclub Coconut Teaszer that summer night...

DBT was on the bill right before the Crowes at BamaJam in Enterprise. Great show, the Whigs and G. Love opened up. Hardly anybody there for the Whigs, but Shonna and EzB watched from the audience. I thought about geeking out and introducing myself but chickened out in favor of them enjoying the show...

As one of the two pillars of Gangstabilly, Panties always makes me wonder why Patterson refers to GB as their weakest album or why when we do album rankings here GB winds up near the bottom. Cooley played it at Waverly recently and related it to his playing bars in Tuscaloosa to ex-sorority girls who did not realize they were no longer college kids.
