First Concert - Eric Clapton, at Nassau Coliseum, Long Island, August 1990. My brother took me when his date or concert buddy bailed out. I was 13. First show on my own was Soul Asylum, May 15, 1998, at Tramps, New York, NY. Last Concert - Richard Thompson, January 28, 2020 at Daryl's House, Pawlin...

Re: The Unraveling
I love the album, it makes for a nice trinity for me with English Oceans and American Band, the three records that have come out since I began following DBT in 2013. And in my mind, the band's most consistently solid stretch - there really aren't any skip songs for me on these three records. I wish ...

Re: Once They Banned Imagine
This page of the American Band thread is more about the song Imagine than about Once They Banned Imagine, but I still think there is another page/thread you are thinking of. It linked to the episode of WKRP in Cincinatti that discusses the banning of Imagine, but that link is dead - try this one in...

The Living Bubba
Ronnie and Neil
Grand Canyon
Box of Spiders
This was definitely harder than the Cooley list. The first two selections were easy. 3 and 4 really could be any number of songs.

Uncle Frank
Carl Perkins's Cadillac
Zip City
Marry Me
I feel strongly about the first three. There's a dozen or two songs that could be the 4th song.

Re: Dimmer Twins —Tarrytown 4/20/2019
Another memorable night at the venerable Music Hall, one of my favorite venues, and my hometown venue. I haven't seen the Dimmer Twins before so I've got nothing from the tour to compare this show to, but it was very enjoyable: the banter, the humor and the song selections. I do wish my workload had...

Re: June/July shows: Brooklyn x 6 (!), Toronto x 3, etc.
Getting into Canada is usually a breeze. Getting back into the US, not so much. When traveling by myself, the last few times I was told to park my car and go into the office for an extended interview. They ask all sorts of questions about where you've been, who you visited, how you know that person,...

Re: The Scruffy Charm of the Audience Tape
Pretty cool, thanks. I always enjoy seeing what nuggets people pick out of the galaxy of tapes out there. That Grateful Dead show they listed sounds different than Dead tapes/show that I'm used to. The taper was right in the thick of things, which I kind of like.

Mike Cooley 2018-12-05 - Highline Ballroom, New York, NY
Hi folks, Here is my tape of the Cooley show in NYC earlier this month. Feel free to share/repost elsewhere in any format. I was a bit reluctant to post this one as the nature of the venue (tables, minimum order $$, etc.) led to some unfortunate interference. For example, the waitress ignored our ta...

Re: Cooley late Fall solo dates!
City Winery, Boston, 12/4 Staying relevant: Cooley changed "from Chinese troops to terrorists" in Ramon to something I didn't quite catch and "caravans." Much of the audience caught it and responded positively(see first paragraph above). I didn't catch it at the show either, but listening to a tape...

Re: Adam's House Cat- Town Burned Down RELEASED!
I finally picked up Town Burned Down at the Cooley show Thursday night (I've been listening to one of the live shows to get my fill til now). And you're all right, this is one hell of a catchy record. Likewise I had to stop myself from singing to myself at the supermarket "Talkin' 'bout chiiilllld a...

Thanks for the tape! Sounds great. Fantastic show in a very small and great old building. I hope for an encore presentation some day, but this one will remain memorable for a long time. I didn't make a full day of it in town but my friends and I got dinner beforehand, at Joshua's. Woodstock seemed s...

Re: Woodstock, NY (The Colony)
Acoustic would be fine by me, I am always down for something different. That said, surely they've had electric shows in there before. Don't see why DBT would be any different. It's no tinier than Maxwell's or Mercury Lounge.

Re: Setlist (or lack thereof) question
Maybe silly question, but I wonder how, 20 or so songs in to an intense show, nobody has ever accidentally started playing a song they did earlier in the night. Sometimes as a fan I forget what was played earlier in the show. I believe Los Lobos were not using setlists when I started seeing them in ...

Someone else posted capacity around 300 in the tour thread. Overlook Mountain (and the ruins of the Overlook Mountain House hotel, which the Colony was built in conjunction with) is the nearest good hike. Giant Ledge, further out past Big Indian, is also a really cool hike, or at least one with a ve...

Re: Woodstock, NY (The Colony)
Yup. Great venue! Built in the 1920s, it is one of the few historic resort relics from that time still around. What kind of things are you looking to do? There are lots of great hikes nearby. For good eats, there's plenty of restaurants/cafes in town, but for those who aren't into the hippie reverie...

Patterson Hood - 2017 December 1 - Rockwood Music Hall, NYC
I post this most reluctantly, as the recording is marred by pops and clicks. I scrubbed as many as I could, most of which seemed to be induced by failing/loose mechanics. But since no other tape has yet surfaced here or on archive.org, I am posting this for the historical record. Imagine you're list...

my favorite run is what's next: Summerteeth (I freaked out on that record, drove people nuts. That was a great time to be ...

Re: Patterson late fall tour
This being my first Patterson solo show I was glad to hear some songs that DBT don't seem to play often. The trio of Thanksgiving Filter, George Jones, and Deeper In are three songs I've played on my ipod a lot, and to get them in a row early on was awesome. But every show I go to there is one song ...
