Given all the shit going down in our town about rebuilding the Anglican Cathedral in the city square (court cases! hate mail! angst!) which i just do not understand, I am going to suggest replacing it with a statue like this. It's bitchin' You guys have angst? Why live a million miles from anywhere...

The Melvins Buzz Osborne: Philosopher Poet Genius

m Facebook is useful for something! This came up in my feed (from of all places Black Flag) and its just a really thoughtful and funny and philosophical piece. I've heard some interviews (podcast) with him and he is really funny too. The first Mastodon song I ever liked was their cover of "The ...

Re: Biggest Royalty Scams

If I sit down and write a song on my guitar or piano or whatever and then take it to my band, unless they add some kind of a structural change like a bridge or a new chorus, etc. then I wrote the song. If you go to your band and say "I've got this song fragment could help me flesh it out?"...

If this were the 1950's and Andy Summers was a poor black undereducated sharecropper's son, I'd be sympathetic. But at this point, I'm kinda sick of this shit. And that goes for you too, Levon. And all the resta youse. If by 1970 (and especially if you graduated HS) you didn't know what was at stak...

Late bloomer here. Having said that, my grandfather was ahead of his time because when I was 9-11 or so he would visit my mother every Saturday afternoon and he would bring us kids sweets and comic books. This is when that sort of stuff was frowned on especially by teachers. I credit it with my love...

I finally figured out that it was in Canada. Toronto & it's suburbs. No one watches cricket except the diehards (or Indians). Not to get off topic, but the first international cricket match was between the US and Canada. But, that was 1844.[/quote] Wait, whut? Cricket is the big summer sport he...

Here is an interesting factoid I learned about Ray Davies recently. His surname is pronounced DAVIS not Davees.

Something to do with it being the way the Welsh pronounce it. Perhaps thats where his forbears are from?

Hell no... if the hipster had been invented in 1983, they would have been included in the song. I mean they were, but the name hadnt been invented. Plus, you know, The Clean represent!

Mono is where its at.

Or recorded in the venue toilet, with a $2 microphone and a cassette recorder while some inane person talks drivel next to you.

But listen. Just listen.
