Re: DBT VS. Phish in ny on NYE.
I plan on going to all 3 of the main options given. Obviously I can't go to all 3 on NYE, and DBT is only playing one night so I'm doing: 12/30: Mule 12/31: DBT 1/1: Phish Probably my 3 favorite live bands, playing 3 nights in a row, in my favorite city. Can't beat that. Wow. I still haven't heard ...

i had a great time, nice preshow dinner and a bit of boozing before the show with some pretty alright folks. getting poured on from the tavern to the show just made me want to party down even harder. i actually liked where we sat for the show. i actually did pretty good and didn't completely blow m...

Re: DBT VS. Phish in ny on NYE.
Good problem to have. I hope I get 12/30 or 1/1 for Phish at MSG and then I'll buy my Terminal 5 ticket. I'm keeping my finger crossed for the Phish mail order. But it will be a really tough ticket to get.
Here's to hoping. I'll grab my Terminal 5 if I get any of the Phish mail order tickets.

Re: Iowa City 9/29 roll call
C/mon Iowan. Get with it. Setlist? I think he is still shitting himself since there were 3 ABAAC songs. Here is what I remember. Started out weird, as Patterson was going slow, then Cooley would rock, then Pat slow, back to Cooley rock. Then Patterson just went with it and put on a hell of a show. ...

Really dug the show. Songs in different places. Angels and Fuselage did me in. Damn. That is why you go to shows. Really kicking myself in the ass this morning after missing the Delta Dawn and Angels and Fuselage with Kelly Hogan. It would have been a tough drive home late on a Tuesday night. Damn!...

Having lived in the Chicago area I should be a huge fan of these guys. I've seen them probably 10 times or so in places from bars like Schubas to the large theaters. To be honest, I just don't understand their popularity. They are talented musicians, but too often when they reach the pinnacle of th...

As a doner to Farm Aid oranization I just received my Pre-sale tickets for the show at Miller Park on 10/2. Acccompanying the tickets was a letter which provided details regarding the concert as well as what is permitted and not-permitted. Also in the letter they stated that the Drive By Truckers sh...

My favorite music doc is definitely Wilco's "I Am Trying to Break Your Heart." The film is so perfectly done that even if it was fictional, it would be a great movie. You can just feel the friction and annoyingness of Jay Bennett wearing on the band and then gets fired. Getting dropped fr...

Re: The future of DBT ?
I'd just like to unintelligebly say that whenever DBT is on a break I'd give my left nut to see a small acoustic Cooley tour. Some of those live recordings on the net are some of my favorites.
Regarding DBT's shelf life, hopefully endless.

This was tough. Pretty much anything in the top 30 could jump into the top five, depending on my mood. All song titles c/p from Wikipedia: 1 "Zip City" (Cooley) 2 "Carl Perkins' Cadillac" (Cooley) 3 "The Living Bubba" - (Hood) 4 "Outfit" (Isbell) 5 "Wome...

Here's hoping there are pigeons in the studio when they record their next album. The next album they record will no doubt extend their run to 5 solid albums in a row. Youth and Young Manhood and Aha Shake Heartbreak are phenomenal albums. Because of the Times is highly underrated and although havin...
