Re: 2 Chicago Shows in late February!!
Don't know if you guys saw. But DBT's site connected with Baseline Ticketing is offering limited time only Two Night Passes for $42 bucks. As compared to the very affordable $26 per night. What a great value DBT brings to the table always. A definite steal regardless. Grabbed myself two pairs of the...

Re: Patterson's best of 2010 (and then some)
That Sparklehorse and Danger Mouse album would definitely be in my top 10 for albums of the year. The second to last song on the album with Vic Chesnutt singing is just creepy. A lot of great contributors on that album.

Re: 2 Chicago Shows in late February!!
Saaaaaahhhhhwwweeeeet! Too bad it's not at the Riv. I much prefer. Kinda with you on that. Vic is smaller which is nicer, but the bathroom lines are longer. Played an epic show at the Vic last year and will surely bring the thunder again this year. 2011 is already shaking up to be a great year alre...

they should hang it up. they've completely lost their cultural relevance and they haven't made a great start-to-finish album since Lifes Rich Pagent. there's been good songs on every record since other than the last one, but so what? perfect exits not induced by death are so rare in rock-n-roll. i ...

Can't wait for the Jellybean Benitez 12" remix Very clever. I probably deserve that when using the dreaded "D" word to describe DBT's music. Kidding about Jelly bean. But seriously-speed this sucker up and I smell a club hit The song also reminds me of late era Afghan Whigs.

Re: Drive-By Truckers "Used To Be A Cop"
I am absolutely enthralled with this song. I can't get the bass and drums out of my head. And the dynamic change of "I Used to Play Football." One of only a few DBT songs that I like much more on record than seeing it live or listening to a show recording. I have no doubt that now I am mor...

The Jason Werth deal is hogwash. I understand he is close to being a five tool player, but on the wrong side of 30, seven years is way too much. Especially when he loses the wheels a bit. It's hard to compare him to the Alfonso Soriano situation because he is far superior in the field, but there ar...

I fully understand that McDaniels played a big part in their offseason acquisitions over the past two years, but ultimately its the GM's decision to pull the trigger. The fact of the matter is that over the past two seasons they've parted ways with Jay Cutler, Brandon Marshall, and Peyton Hillis. Th...

Cardinal fan here and stat geek. I find it absolutely ridiculous he is not in the Hall of Fame. From 1964-1967 (1967 he clearly was) you could make an argument he was the best position player in baseball, at a position where that rarely happens. 3b is not a position proportionately represented fair...

Obvioulsy, I hope everything is ok with them as well, but they were really the only reason I was going to Xmas Jam this year. What I would suggest is to find a hotel in Midtown and then you can do Piedmont Park sometime during the day and then take a cab over to Little Five Points (10 bucks or so). There are some neat shops, good bars and bars with football on, people watching etc. There are not many hotels around that ar...
