Re: Petty/DBT Cincy 7/15
I disagree wholeheartedly about Petty's shows not being good. Obviously, he's not someone I'd follow around to multiple shows on the same tour because the setlist doesn't vary much, but the Heartbreakers are the tightest and best-sounding band in rock and roll. I can imagine it has to be frustrating...

Petty/DBT Cincy 7/15
DBT just finished up a killer set here in Cincy:
Marry Me
Drag the Lake Charlie
Get Downtown
I Told You So
Santa Fe
Women Without Whiskey
Everybody Needs Love
Birthday Boy
Sink Hole
Uncle Frank
Hell No I Ain't Happy
3 Dimes Down
Let There Be Rock
More thoughts when I get home later

Corey, what ever happened to the country artist that was supposed to cover Outfit? Seems like you or someone else mentioned it a few years ago, but nothing ever materialized as far as I know.

Re: Indiana show with Petty
Looks like a pretty good crowd for DBT, even though it's probably near the end of their set judging from Patterson's profuse sweating, lol. Hope the crowd was fairly good for the beginning of the set.

Re: MLB player introduction music
I believe I remember reading a few years ago about a Toronto Blue Jay that used "Sink Hole" as their music. I want to say it was Greg Zahn, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Re: The Big To Do - thoughts after a couple of months?
Not my favorite album, but I do enjoy it quite a bit. I listen to it regularly, and I think I actually enjoy it more now than upon first release. These are the strongest songs in my opinion INPO:
Birthday Boy
Girls Who Smoke
Santa Fe
Fourth Night of My Drinking
Get Downtown
After the Scene Dies

I just bought the 4 "new songs" from iTunes, you don't have to buy the whole album again if you already own it.

Hated to miss them at the Cannery, saw some great shows there. Thanks to TDS for taping and letting all of us that couldn't be there experience the Rock Show.

I cheated a little because Wildflowers is a Petty "solo" album. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51brQuLoz%2BL._SL500_AA300_.jpg http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51Q%2BsOOy1IL._SL500_AA300_.jpg http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41RT4GMJP5L._SL500_AA300_.jpg

Nope, I didn't make the show, but I always like reading Walter Tunis' reviews. He does a good job and always comes to the DBT/Isbell shows when they are in the area.

Re: drummers
Agree with Dime about Stan Lynch, always thought he fit the Heartbreakers sound perfectly. Ferrone is more technically proficient, but Stan was just an animal. Also enjoyed Steven Adler, never was a great drummer, but I can't imagine anyone else playing drums on Appetite.
