Getting excited about this weekend, wife and I are going to the Saturday show. I know we have some Asheville locals on here, what are some good restaurant recommendations for the area? I'm not local but I recommend Burial for beer and Sunny Point Cafe for food. http://www.sunnypointcafe.com http://...

Re: 5/25 - Gears & Guitars Fest, Winston Salem
We're probably going. I'm not a huge fan of festivals but I'll make an exception for the Dickinsons and DBT. It's not a festival- just three nights of three bands. There's a bike race through downtown during the day, and music at night. Bailey Park is pretty small, too. Just a bandstand at the end ...

Re: Post from Patterson On New Record
I can simultaneously like the band and have issues with things the band does. I don't need to dote over them to prove that I like them That's why I asked. I rarely see you post anything that would suggest that you actually like the band let alone "dote" over them. The next time you do will probably...

I'm mostly serious...do you like the band at all? So many of your posts suggest that you don't really care for their output that much.Zip City wrote:

Re: Post from Patterson On New Record
As I've said before, I think the current version of the band is the best ever so I'm a bit surprised by some of the views expressed here. I also think this is the best, most consistent lineup of the band ever. I'm also surprised that anyone thinks Babies in Cages is an "abomination"....that just bl...

Re: Post from Patterson On New Record
I miss the peddle steel on certain songs. I was never a fan of them adding it to songs where it just didn't belong. The way it bogged down WWW made me want to pull my hair out. It was frustrating to listen to. That’s a great point. I actually don’t mind the peddle steel on some of the studio songs....

Re: Post from Patterson On New Record
The lyrics to Perilous Night just kinda are what they are: a snapshot of a moment in history. I've come to expect a certain number of Patterson songs that are in this vein. What I really don't like is the arrangement. I wish they would douse the piano in gasoline and light a match. I don't find a s...

Wow, some strong takes here. Especially from a few who’ve openingly admitted that haven’t heard any of the new songs. I guess I’ve heard 6-7 of the songs in Lucas’s list above and I like them all. As far as Babies in Cages being an abomination...well, I guess I like abominations lol. Loved it at the...

I'd love to see the HC setlist look like this forever---this is when the hardcore fans have come from all over the continent and beyond. Mix it up crazy the first two nights and leave you knowing your face is gonna melt Saturday. You nailed it. This year was our 8th and it was my favorite. The incr...

1. Thursday night 2. Saturday night 3. Friday night Splitting hairs, of course. Uniformly excellent performances. I spent a lot of time focusing on Matt's bass lines this weekend. Really cool stuff he's doing--very melodic and interesting ideas. I was also digging Patterson's lead guitar work, for ...

Quick thoughts on Night 1 (or 2 depending on how we’re counting lol): I honestly had no idea they played 29 songs last night until someone posted the set list. I can’t rank shows anymore but last night was special, not only for the breakouts but also all the breakups songs for Valentine’s Day, & the...
