Re: Is this Cooley?

Unless the show was at a strange time, I don't think it's Cooley. DBT played Chattanooga, TN on 7/28/2007, which is about a 9 hour drive to Bridgeview, IL according to Google. DBT's set was a festival set, though, so if they played really early and this Crossroads started real late, there's still a ...

Re: Isbell SOTW Week 7 - Streetlights

Nice selection. Love the imagery and the way the 400 Unit treats the song, almost gently. Another track that needs to find its way back into the rotation. This is one of those where I actually prefer the solo acoustic version. This song is so out of place on S/T, because it is gentle, it can get lo...

Re: Jason Isbell - Something More Than Free 7/17

#1 Rock Album (lol), #2 Country Album, #4 Overall. Not too shabby. (Per Jason's Twitter.) I saw that too, and it is quite impressive. I wonder what charts he is referencing though. It's not Billboard. nor it is iTunes download charts... Check the new Billboard charts tomorrow when they are posted o...

Re: Jason Solo shows 2007-2012 how did he get by?

Yeah, I was gong to preface my post by saying most of those shows were in the north. The shows were awesome and Jason and his band always brought it regardless of the crowd size. It is always great to see very talented and hard working musicians (or anyone else for that matter) get the recognition t...

Re: Jason Solo shows 2007-2012 how did he get by?

I know nothing about Jason's financial portrait, but as an attendee at several of those shows I can tell you that crowds of roughly 20 were more then norm than the exception. I know he would make comments about just giving up and becoming someone's guitarist, but fortunately for him he stuck it out.

Re: Patterson and family moving from Athens to Portland

The worst thing about the Hoods moving to Portland is that Athens will lose them for now. Athens has benefited from having them here, but now it's Portland's turn. Personally, it's very selfishly sad for me, but I can't help but be thrilled and excited for all of them as they move to a new place an...

Patterson and family moving from Athens to Portland

From the Dirt Underneath 2015 Tour thread, ElGordo reported the following from last night's Portland show: So, uh, awesome show in Portland tonight. Not quite together enough to have a comprehensive set list available. However, I will dutifully report that Patterson announced that he and his family ...

Re: Too early to start speculating about the new album?

The irony of him still playing Never Gonna Change slays me every time. Oh yeah. As I sat there and listened to him and the band belt out the hook of that song I couldn't help but think about the irony in what he was saying. Also, to append my above post, my biggest gripe with JI400 these days is th...

Re: Too early to start speculating about the new album?

At shows, I craaaave Never Gonna Change, Super 8, Go it Alone. I would kill to go back in time to see him with the Truckers, or maybe better yet, in those volatile 400 Unit-pre-wild-success days. I saw him & the 400 Unit 6 times in the pre-Southeastern/still swigging whiskey days, and the shows...

Their follow up plan apparently includes a new album, Sound & Color, which is being released April 21st.

It is certainly interesting news that they're headlining Red Rocks, but what a great bill.
