Oh also Fire on the Mountain chicken wings. I don't even eat chicken (they have veggie options too) and I still dream about the Jamaican Jerk sauce.

Re: Looking for Red Rocks Recommendations

If ever a thread called for my input, I suppose this is the one. A few opening questions and some general thoughts. 1) What show? I'm eyeing Isbell right now (naturally) but those tickets tend to be easier to come by as scalpers give up their dreams of 10x profit margins. Keeping an eye on Childers ...

Those are great. Hoping for some leftovers available for the rest of us! There will need to be replenishment. Going like veritable hot cakes. 19 in Boston, 23 last night. I would love a poster version because lord knows I don't need any more t-shirts. But if there's Cooley merch, you know I'm buyin...

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?

Saw James McMurtry on Saturday night. Predictably excellent. Saw him a few months ago and I'd say that he's so fucking good that he's almost boring, if that makes sense. It does make sense. I was most struck by what an underrated guitar player he is. This was my first time seeing him, but will obvi...

Damn I love seeing this thread. Been too long without DBT discussion!

Excited for Cooley on 12/9 and 10 during his Colorado run. Halfway explored doing a swing out to Portland for Patterson, but that's looking less than likely at this point.

Re: Tyler Childers

Really digging the songs. Did not care for Country Squire so this is a welcome return to form. I think for the most part I tend to like Hallelujah versions the most, but there are a couple (Angel Band comes to mind) where the Jubilee embellishments kick it up a notch. The most obnoxious thing about ...

Re: Determining the 3DD Community's Favorite DBT Songs Using Science

Keep those votes coming! “Sandwiches for the Road” is my biggest departure from the consensus thus far. Also possible it just hasn’t had enough matchups. Every time I saw it today the other choice was like “Zip City” or some other Inner Circle HOF song. I’m also much higher on “Mercy Buckets.” But I...

Re: Determining the 3DD Community's Favorite DBT Songs Using Science

The universe of songs is as follows, in case you want to do your own rankings without other votes in there. I made some arbitrary choices to include or exclude certain covers (e.g., include Eddie Hinton and Warren Zevon, exclude Bob Dylan and Tom Petty) and live-only songs. I couldn't make up my min...

Determining the 3DD Community's Favorite DBT Songs Using Science

I've been playing with this for the past day or so for my own "rankings," but thought maybe this would be a spicy post while the band is off the road and post activity is a little slow in these parts. It's already made me make some damn near impossible choices. Essentially, this tool starts from a b...

Re: Denver - Levitt Pavilion - 7/15/22

I was a little apprehensive about this one. A number of factors had me worried: outdoor venues have never been my favorite DBT shows (but that's probably because in my limited experience, they've usually been opening in those settings). Along those same lines, a free show can mean a bigger audience,...

Haven't really been following DBT lately. I've moved onto different music, interests, people, but I did see them when they came through Toronto recently. What are you listening to now instead? Aside from Amyl and the Sniffers, who are also great. Someone here implied that this is an American story....

Pence '24 I have no particular interest in the rehabilitation of Mike Pence, who is indeed mostly odious. But I don't really worry about this. A not-insignificant part of his supposed base literally built a gallows for him 17 months ago, and he has the approximate charisma of a teenage boy's "speci...

I love the multiple interpretations that are possible here. A manifestation of Maria's garbled thoughts. A callback to previous "satanic panic" episodes regarding alleged backmasking in music.

I've been around for a while. I know how things work, or don't. I had zero expectations of getting my cd of the album on release day. I went into the process knowing I needed to be patient and to have no expectations, essentially viewing it as a "support the band" exercise, not a commercial transac...
