Re: Felice Brothers Thread

https://americansongwriter2013.bandcamp.com New song here, Bird On a Broken Wing. Sounds like a better produced version of something from Amigo, which is probably what most fans are hoping for. I like it a lot. My mancrush on Ian continues apace. I heard 3 new songs including this one down at SXSW ...

Re: The TV thread

Thanks for the advice, folks. I definitely intend to continue watching. OTOH, I officially gave up on Scandal last nite. Just started the new season via DVR and I made it thru about 1 and 1/10 episodes. Just a couple of minutes into the second one I just couldn't sit there anymore LOL. I don't thin...

Re: NYC on March 20

The curfew was a bummer but getting to see Grand Canyon live made it OK. I think I like it even better than Angels & Fuselage as a set closer, honestly. Before the show when we were all waiting outside the venue before doors, this couple sort of cut in line after some of us had already been out...

Re: Felice Brothers Thread

My only real problem with Celebration was how poorly a lot of it played live. They're just not a good enough live band to pull some of that stuff off. Or at least they weren't the last time I saw them. i love that album and will agree with you here..just saw them again last week and everything is w...

Tomorrow night... back to the World Cafe Live at the Queen for Hayes Carll and Bob Schneider. Seen Hayes a few times so I know what to expect there. Not sure about Schneider though. Oh and I'll be catching this show with my aunt, the one who loves Robbie and hates Levon. Give her a big smooch for m...

(hell, wednesday is my absolute favorite song in the entire catalog!) YES. YESSSS. Play this song more! NY crowds really suck but all crowds suck nowadays. I finally got to go to SXSW and was amazed and refreshed at the audiences at the old country bars (shows like Bill Kirchen, Kevin Russell, Otis...

Never been to McGee's but looks like it would be a fine meet up spot. Bill or Penny can confirm, but I think McGee's is the spot a bunch of us met up at before the New Year's show a few years back. If that's the place, they've got a really good jukebox, one of those satellite deals where you can ca...

Touche. And there is nothing wrong with Jason's vocals in that song. But R&N is the best so that pick puts the 'upsetting' in upset.

Oh, btw, what are we supposed to think about the "open" aspects of Claire & Frank's marriage? I understand that it's a reflection of the calculating nature of their relationship but I don't get the sense that it's being presented as immoral or anything like that and I'm wondering whet...

Re: all time sellouts

I don't find selling songs for commercial appeal to be selling out. I do find it to be disappointing. As a fan of the music, once you've heard it on a commercial, it takes on an entirely different meaning. So to me, it's not a sell out, but it is disappointing. "I'd totally sell out if I could...

Can't say a song off each album because most of these songs are still played a lot, but I think ABAAC is underrated in general and the more time passes, the more I think those songs stand the test of time.
