Re: Hood/Cooley/Craig Finn Interview

This is great, I'm a huge Hold Steady fan. I feel like DBT and Hold Steady are similar in that you don't really "get" them until you see them live, then you're hooked. "Separation Sunday" is one of my favorite albums EVER and "Boys and Girls in America " isn't far behind. I kind of agree about thei...

Re: Sturgill Simpson Thread

Sturgill gonna be on SNL this weekend Awesome. Maybe additional dates to couple with the appearance? Hoping I don't have to see him in an arena next time he is around... After the Grammy nominations, I think he said in an interview he had planned to take off 18 months, but that he'd proabably have ...

Re: 1 extra ticket for each Denver night BELOW FACE VALUE 1/

You don't think it's a bit too early to be making calls on the weather a few days in advance? Is leaving early an option? Public transportation? Sounds like a fun weekend you don't want to miss !

Re: Songs you wanna see brought back

I'd enjoy a comeback from pretty much anything on the "Big 3 " that hasn't been played a lot. From more recent times, I'd love to see "Self Destructive Zones" and "Primer Coat" get in the mix.

I really dig their cover of "Adam Raised a Cain." Would kill to get that.

Re: Sturgill Simpson Thread

Has anyone heard any kind of word on more shows in the US? I've got to imagine the "Sailors..." Tour has a small victory lap left in it, at the very least. Lots of markets still untapped.

Re: Albums of the year 2016.

Heart Luke a Levee (the song), Biloxi and Oh Happy Day are amazing songs, nothing particularly groundbreaking but just damn good songs. All three would make my top twenty songs of the year, but the rest of them on the record are solid-to-pretty good. Its around 6 or 7 (I think) on my AOTY list. I a...

Re: Albums of the year 2016.

Indeed. No matter his post count, it's not like I've said anything insulting, I just find broad generalizations of this nature baffling, particularly when Real has appeared on several year end best of lists. Then again, maybe it's Clams' fault. I think one has to take a look at himself if he feels ...

Re: Albums of the year 2016.

To each their own but to lay down some sort of hard and fast rule that any album doesn't belong on any given list is bullshit. If I want to put what many consider the worst album of 2016 at #1 on my list I don't really give a fuck what anyone thinks. It means that particular album is important to m...

I really like Lydia's new album and will spin it occasionally but I'm with you, it doesn't belong on any "best of" lists.

Re: American Band reviews

Nice review above, bubba. As a huge Soringsteen fan, I'll say I think "Magic" is another late career record from him that's potentially on par with his older stuff. Personally, I think it's better than "The Rising." As for AB, I just don't see it up there with their best stuff. Not even close to the...

Incredibly sad after reading this post... I wasn't there, I didn't listen to the recording, I don't know what was said. But for purposes of this post it almost doesn't matter. Everything is broken. We need lessons in how to talk and listen to each other before we can even start on actually talking ...

If I were DBT, I'd be mad at the realization that many of their characters WOULD be Trump supporters I'm pretty sure they realized and understood some of their characters were of this type a LONG time ago. I'm sure it was intentional. As for the OP, I'll be honest with you in saying I'm not too imp...

Re: Newbies--Introduce yourselves

Hi all! My name is Cory. I live in Grand Rapids. Started listening to the Truckers years ago but it took "It's Great to Be Alive" for me to get severely hooked. I caught my first show at the Thalia in Chicago last year (night two) and now here I am! Hoping some fall dates will pop up for the Midwest!
