NEIL YOUNG GULF COAST SOLO TOUR

Coming to a theatre near you - at least five shows on the coast from Clearwater to Biloxi. A couple have already sold out so jump on it if you are interested. I got a pretty good ticket for Panama City (!)

West LA is on their excellent new album, I would love to hear them play Bertha as well. One of the last great live bands, IMHO.

Check out this promo video - even if you are not a Saban or Bama fan (An Auburn fan turned me on to it), it will get you pumped up. My sister in law's sister works for him in the UA athletic dept. Intense guy.

I'll probably come in from Newnan. I wonder why they went up there instead of the Variety (Obviously did not take my personal convenience in mind at all).

Re: Buckhead Theatre Grand Reopening

How would you compare it to the Variety Playhouse?

P.S. Where is this place - I have never been to the Roxy - is it actually in Buckhead? I hear they have "cleaned up" that area since the good old days.

Mobile, AL on a Weds - 9/22 - hope a good crowd shows, don't think I can make it. Still trying for either ATL at the Roxy (or whatever it is called now) and/or Tuscaloosa.

Got it. Kind of reminds me of (a better) Bay City Rollers. Not something I would listen to every day, but probably better for the office workplace environment than Iron Maiden (LOL). There were several articles on Chilton's Tuscaloosa connection recently, by Will Kimbrough and (I think) Jason Isbell...

Re: Tuscaloosa 9/16

I am going to try to make it. My brother lives in a suburb/neighboring town (Moundville) and I went to the University many years ago. Probably a 50/50 toss up now, some things would have to get lined up to make this work. In fact, the Indian mounds/museum in Moundville are worth checking out. The Br...

Re: Rush: beyond the lighted stage

Just a few thoughts to wrap up this love fest. I do like Rush (a lot) but they are not everyone's cup of tea; in fact, I would be surprised if many people on this board for alt-country DBT fans did like them. I can see the complaints about their 1970's era lyrics. However, that was a loooong time ag...

I used to have an mp3 of Eddie Vedder freaking-the-fuck-out cuz someone was throwing quarters at them - his "meltdown" was funny as shit - although it does take a high level of asshat-ism to throw shit at any band IMO - and I for one would be afraid to throw anything at DBT, they can be a...
