Neil and Phish rip it at 1998 Farm Aid. Probably the best (most rocking anyway) version I have heard.

They opened w/ U.F. a couple of years ago in Tallahassee (11-2-08 as I recall) on the RRMW tour w/ THS - killer.

A long way from happiness
In a three-hour-away town
Whiskey bottle over Jesus
Not forever, just for now

Yeah bring me champagne when I'm thirsty.
Bring me reefer when I want to get high.

Re: case briefing question
If you are going to be technical about it, look at your local rules of appellate procedure. That should have the categories you need for the jurisdiction. Also, get a couple of sample briefs. We did not have Google back in the dark ages, before the internet (Lexis/Westlaw was on a phone line dial-up...

How about some love for fellow Mississippi River Alt-country pioneers The Jayhawks? They have been playing together a little, maybe a new album will come of it. Who knows. Great stuff. I wish I knew enough to do a write up. If someone else, does, please do so. P.S. I also like UT and Fararr/Son Volt...

Re: What Phish sounds like to people who don't like Phish
Yeah, that is pretty much Phish at their nadir. IT was a festival concert when they got back together after they broke up or went on hiatus or whatever. This video is from a PBS special that I have on DVD. Pretty weak although not totally horrible, but then I like(d) Phish. They were great in the 19...

Magnolia Electric Company - Anybody know how Molina is doing? As soon as I really start listening to him, he gets sick. I haven't seen anything from him this year (which is very unusual for him, very prolific artist). Hope he is doing better.

Check this out: At the 52nd Monterey Jazz Festival, three-quarters of the stellar fusion band Return to Forever shared a single stage. They are Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke and Lenny White on piano, bass and drums, respectively.

Well, I have passed a bar exam (but not recently) and there is a lot more to writing a successful brief than that although that is a good one sentence synopsis.

Re: Need Relationship Advice: Explain Steampunk
My understanding of literary steampunk (which is not very good other than Pullman's H.D.M.) is that they used alternate technologies which are different than those commonly used in our world or not in existence at all. For example blimps instead of airplanes, etc. Or magical devices. (Superior techn...

Band of Joy Live performance on NPR
m September 20, 2010 This was a show full of surprises. First off, Band of Joy wasn't just backing Robert Plant. It's a band that happens to have Plant as a member. Sometimes multi-instrumentalist Darrell Scott sung lead while Plant played harmonica. At other times, singer-songwriter Patty Griffin o...

Yet another game where Clemson snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. Unreal. I don't know if there are any Auburn fans on here, but other than the game, I enjoyed Auburn. Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy (starting with The Golden Compass in the USA or Northern Lights in the rest of the world) is steampunk of a sort, I believe. Great book.

I liked the new song, Buckets of Mercy. I wonder what the studio version sounds like, this is Patterson solo version of course. Kinds of reminds me of the Murdering Oscar album's songs.

I met the former AMHOF director David Johnson when he came down all the way across the state a couple of years ago for a music mural dedication on my building. Really nice guy. We were talking about Alabama musical heritage, and I let a line drop like "from W.C. Handy to Jason Isbell". He ...

Re: NEIL YOUNG GULF COAST SOLO TOUR
Sorry I missed you. It was a great show. I did sit near a long lost friend from high school (that's a looong time ago). The new album is up on NPR. I liked the live versions better. The old songs were great, just wish he had done something from 1979-2009, but a great show nonetheless. I did not know...
