Oxford American Music Issue: Alabama

Anybody know what's in here besides the cover? $11.00 seems a lot for sight unseen.

Re: Planning a tour of The South...

I would skip Tallahassee unless you have a lot of time. It is just a capitol city with a couple of colleges, nice place but kinds boring unless you are from there. The Apalachicola river basin is neat though, maybe check out the town of the same name if you have time and then head north from LA. Als...

Jayhawks planning tour, reissues, new album

It's no easy feat pulling off three back-to-back nights at First Avenue, but the Jayhawks made it look effortless this past summer when they powered through one of the most memorable local music events of the year. Ever since founders and lead singers Gary Louris and Mark Olson rejoined forces back ...

Is the Vic song on a tribute album? Vic definitely needs one done since his untimely passing last Christmastime. That guy suffered through a lot, prime example of suffering and artistry going hand in hand.

Re: NCAA FB 2010

So assuming Cam Newton plays for Auburn tomorrow (which he almost certainly will), does Bama have any chance? I was hoping for bad weather, but it looks like that will clear out by tomorrow morning. Oh well. Better luck next year. Maybe Auburn will shoot down the Gamecocks and the Ducks. RTR.

The pictures were much better in the exhibit than online, of course. Good presentation as well. I don't think many people had seen them at the exhibit site. Lots of folks you might read about on TDD.

Jack's Jingle

A jingle made popular by Birmingham hamburger restaurant chain Jack's in the 1960s is making a comeback. Jack's Family Restaurants has revived an advertising campaign that uses the "You'll go back, back, back to Jack, Jack, Jack's for more, more, more!" line that was a staple in its promot...

Supposedly the payoff is construction work on a church his dad pastors in Newnan, GA. I go there fairly frequently, I think I'll check it out. Cam will play until the NCAA stops him. Kind of like Reggie Bush. Enjoy it as long as possible.

The latest on Cam Newton points to the Miss St head coach who was at FL the same time as Cam. Of course he denies anything. Who knows. He is a great ball player. As good as Reggie Bush. Just sayin'.
