Here's the thing about Columbus: it's a biggish city (750,000+ population) with a huge college campus. The city attracts a lot of great shows, but god DAMN if the crowds don't suck at just about all of them. Not all companies are like that though, the place I've worked for the last 7 years doesn't talk like that, and I must say it's pretty nice dealing with people who are straightforward and say what they mean.

I'm not a fan of it, but I recognize that it's a band's right to do it if they want.

I find that newer bands looking for exposure or some extra cash is much easier to stomach, hugely popular bands (AC/DC; Skynyrd; Rolling Stones) doing it as an apparent money grab bothers me MUCH more.

I saw Alberta Cross open for Them Crooked Vultures. I was intrigued by everything I had read about them up to that point, but frankly, their live show didn't do a whole lot for me. I have not listened to any of their albums beyond checking out some clips here or there.
