Re: House of Blues - Myrtle Beach, SC - 7/12/18
I was going to try to put some coherent words together & review last night's show in Myrtle Beach but it's really pointless. It was your typical run of the mill DBT epic blowout. We've all been to them. At a certain point last night you could just tell shit was getting real. I've been to enough sho...

Re: Woodstock, NY (The Colony)
This was a shockingly (shouldn't be shocked anymore) superb show. A few notes and thoughts...I'll start at the back. EZ B. Playing “unplugged” really reveals how incredibly critical Brad is to the DBT sound. Even with one snare, kick, hi-hat, and ride, there was still both a sense of power (“Marry ...

Re: Walk-out music question
I've heard Paul Stanley (possibly Ace Frehley as well), Patti Smith, "Sirens of the Ditch" back in the day (specifically remember "Brand New Kind of Actress" and "Shotgun Wedding", prior to album release and Jason's departure); my favorite though is Eddie Hinton's "I Need Something Heavy". :mrgreen...

Don't know if this deserves its own thread or not but Patterson discusses hand signals, Muscle Shoals, his Pops and other things in this Gear Club podcast.

Oliver North, yes THAT Oliver North, is about to become the president of the NRA. Take it away, Cooley. “You go back to the terrible days of Jim Crow and those kinds of things — even there you didn’t have this kind of thing,” he said. “We didn’t have the cyberwar kind of thing that we’ve got today....

At the HOB Myrtle Beach its standing only on the first floor. There is seating on the second floor but the sound up there is kinda bad.
They used to book all kinds of shows there back when...you know.. there was a live music scene. This will probably be the best show they have there all year.

Read this morning in the analogue paper that the guy delivers to my house that when the leagues expanded he was on the first Montreal Expos team so he learned to speak French! Pretty cool.

I'm with Smitty. While I recognize the greatness of Born To Run, Darkness is my favorite Springsteen album.
Also agree with BTB. If he had combined those 2 records that came out at the same time it would have been much better as a single album. Soul Driver with Sam Moore is total bad ass.
