Re: Never Had Such A Good Time/The Grateful Dead Thread
I was at party New Years Eve and telling a guy that they were playing a Dead show from New Year's Eve on the radio that night - 1977 I believe. He started telling me about a New years Eve show that was simulcast at the time where Kesey is trippin' balls and misunderstands that these paper mache head...

Re: Ode to the greatest Dylan song many have never heard
I don't know myself or Bob Dylan's catalogue well enough to know why but I know this song. It's familiar to me, I know the melody and I have an mp3 of the recording but I don't know how I acquired it. Steven Hyden is right - it's brilliant.
I now see it was released in 1985 on the box set Biograph.

Can't recommend it at all. Too much written about Rick Hall, The ABB and Skynyrd and not enough written specifically about The Truckers in general or the album in particular. The author didn't even interview anyone in the band. I'd say if you post on this board that you already know more about this ...

i had the good fortune to meet Lou on the New York tour. he actually bummed a cig from me quietly telling me that his wife (would be Sylvia) was making him smoke "these damned light things". i was like "here Lou, take the pack". 1 of the highlights of my 25 years in the music biz. :D  :mrg...

Thank you pearlbeer. That was amazing. "Post Malone took the stage to deafening cheers, scorching jet flames and billowing clouds of smoke like a Groupon version of a Kiss concert from 1975." "His songs completely lack volatility and swing, leaving him as a little boy trying on oversized sequin suit...

Also it seems like he was the only guy in the band who was really honest about St. Ronnie.

Always wanted to hear the band play The Southern Thing. They played it in Richmond when I was outside on a smoke break. Angry. Very angry. Finally caught it. What a relief!
