Re: Pete Seeger's Clearwater Festival

It would appear that the lucky folks in attendance got an acoustic set! That's right and it was really good! I'm sure UR will be along shortly with the whole setlist, but here are a few from memory: Living Bubba (opener) Box Of Spiders Gravity's Gone The Deeper In Pulaski TN Cartoon Gold Bulldozers...

Yes. I recommend the bonus track version. It's a reissue that includes "Alfie" and "It Might Be You."

Artist of the Week 6/13/11: Rumer

One day I was browsing the music magazines at a chain bookstore (as often happens) and I read in MOJO about an English singer named Rumer (stage name...real name Sarah Joyce). It said she was superb, harkening back to such vocalists as Dusty Springfield and Carole King. (I've also seen Karen Carpent...

I mentioned Farm Aid and the Bridge School earlier in the thread. The dates for both fundraising events have been announced. Farm Aid will be held on August 13 in Kansas City, KS. The Bridge School Benefit will be held on October 22-23 in Mountain View, CA. I plan to be in Mountain View in October a...

Unwatchable finals, just unwatchable. Why do you say that? If Vanouver wins it will be the franchise's first Stanley Cup and the first for a Canadian team since Montreal in 1993. They won the President's Trophy so have been the most consistent team all season. If Boston wins it will be the franchis...

Re: Circuital Pre-Order

Seems to me that most bands have a 1-3 album peak and it's just hard to maintain that. You're right though..that's exactly what I saw happen to PJ and I never understood their following for all these years. I would say that Pearl Jam had a 5-album peak to start their career (Ten-Vs-Vitalogy-No Code...

Maybe by "sitting in with Zeppelin" they meant this performance from when Led Zeppelin was inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Agreed, it's not "Led Zeppelin" but it's Page, Plant and Jones (not sure if Jason Bonham was the drummer for this or not). DCfQ0jHi6wc You're p...

Neil never sat in with Led Zeppelin. While I agree that the Dylan/Dead tour & live album are far from the career best for either of those acts, the author could be more accurate with some of the statements.

Re: Why not Sell Soundboards?

Not neccessarily. The Dead, Phish and Panic are three prime examples of three bands that have actively encouraged taping. And those three bands have probably netted the most in releasing their soundboards. Pearl Jam is probably the only exception to the rule I can think of. I don't think that they ...

How about $79 plus service fees to see Eddie Vedder acoustic? When he was touring on the Into the Wild stuff it was an excellent show, but it seems a bit hypocritical to me that he charge that much. Less than the cost of a Pearl Jam ticket. I understand that the market bears what it holds, but it s...
