Re: Busting an Online Cheater

Rev just walk man. You've already got other women that you are interested in who are interested in you. Nothing is to be gained from calling her out. It makes it look like you care a lot and the number one thing you can do if you really want to burn her biscuits is to make it seem like you don't giv...

Re: SOTW #106 - Too Much Sex, Too Little Jesus

Good stuff Rev. I know Cooley said once that he grew up going to church which didn't surprise me. Patterson has been pretty open about the fact that his family didn't go and that he felt like he was judged for it. I'm not sure where he's coming from on this song. I don't know if it is just a comment...

I haven't enjoyed any RHCP since "Californication".

Yeah and I really probably haven't liked them much since Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic.

"Shiny Happy People" - REM. After I heard this, that was when I decided that Michael Stipe needed a punch in the face. For those of you who are old enough, do you remember the cheesy video that went along with it on MTV,etc. I believe Kate Pierson from the B-52's was in that one as well t...

I hear ya man. There are different levels of enthusiam for just about anything. Like I said, I obviously enjoy music or I wouldn't be here. I like listening to it and playing it. I just don't know what people mean when they some song or record changed their life. That is hard to imagine. Same thing...

Re: name a worse song...

I don't care for Adele very much, to me she seems very manufactured to me. Her music, at least from what I've heard, doesn't seem to be looking looking forward it seems to be a throw back sound, which is ok, but I tend to listen to more forward sounding music. She's not one of my personal favorites...

Anything by Luke Bryan. Any Will Smith song. Anything by Lady Gaga. A lot of things that music critics and wannabe music critics claim to love. Not clear about the Brady bunch reference. I believe Gator was alluding to the episode where Bobby watches all those Jesse James movies and idolizes him like a hero (because the way the movies are set up makes him look like a hero), until he has a nightmare where Jesse James kills all of his family...

Re: The 2012 Thread for Political Shit

Thanks. A couple of more random thoughts: I stated that this country decided to become a mixed economy a long time ago. In this context, "a long time ago" is usually understood to be a reference to the new deal of the 1930's. But it actually goes back much further: I'd argue that it start...

Excellent posts all around, but since I'm stuck on my phone for the weekend, I can't address them point by point. One that I would like to mention is Cole's point about raising taxes a few % points. If I'm not mistaken, we'd reach those levels by simply allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire, right? ...
