Re: American Band- 9/30/16

Well, I've been fucked yet again by DBT's merch vendor. Even though I changed my billing and shipping address on the website two months ago, according to my email, the album is being shipped to my old house. I'm done. From now on, I'll just preorder from my local shop. How does something like this h...

It's in a box somewhere because we've just moved, but I got Cooley to sign my DVD of Stroker Ace after a show. And yes, I already owned the movie.

06- A friend brought The Dirty South over one day and I was hooked. It was a month or so before ABAAC came out, and I was stoked. Saw them twice late that year in Asheville and Durham, and got a great pic of me and Shonna after the Asheville show. http://i738.photobucket.com/albums/xx21/cooleybird/D...

High Fidelity was on HBO and so I watched it for the 40th time. Me, too. I was at the new house directing AT&T and DirecTV this morning/afternoon, and it was the first good thing I saw when all was set up, so I left in on while the movers were doing their thing. Now it's "Straight Outta Compton", b...

Thanks, dude. I've got feelers out to coffee shops, roasters, breweries, bars, and a smoke shop about a mile from my new house. I'll land on my feet. My Dad had some great words for last night that when he was a year younger than I am now, he got laid off with a wife and 10 year old (me), had been r...

Re: What's Everyone Drinking?

I took a drive to check out some SW NC breweries yesterday for work (I got paid to drink!), and had good beers from Ass Clown and Primal, and not so good samples from Ghostface. Highlights were the Assclown French Oak ale, Habanero Brown, and Star Fruit Tart. Primal had a really good IPA, and I got ...

I'm the exception. I don't trust myself to lower or lift off the tonearm with my own digits. The cue works so much better for me.

No cue? WTF is that all about? 3 things all turntables need regardless of everything else. Dustcover, auto return, and cueing. No reason to mess with anything without all three. The high end ones without auto return really baffle me. How is that good in any respect? A cue is the only thing that's i...

I'm diggin' the new record. Three plays on the iPod and two on the turntable. If you don't think of it as a country album it's great. But I can see how the folks who latched onto "Metamodern" would be disappointed. I love it. It's like Waylon meets Jimmy Buffet with some '90s Crowes, and Sturgill br...
