https://ourculturemag.com/2022/02/23/wednesday-announce-new-covers-album-mowing-the-leaves-instead-of-piling-em-up/ Didn’t Wednesday cover Women Without Whiskey on Saturday night? I had forgotten until I listened to the “Mowing the Leaves” albulm today. The members of Wednesday were very kind to my ...

Re: August 13 DBT The Caverns Pelham, TN

I attempted to keep a set list, but I failed. My son enjoyed the show overall, but we did not buy VIP tickets, and vip’s were standing in front of the regular ticket holders. We were “on the rail” of the regular section, but my son could see very little, so we moved around often. Also, in an attempt...

Re: DBT tracks week 16 Tales Facing Up

Well said, my friend, well said! I was taking the trash out the the curb tonight and spotted something shiny in the gutter. It was a dime. Heads facing up though. Definitely the first time I've found a dime in the gutter since I knew Pizza Deliverance. I was so happy because it put the song in my he...

Re: August 13 DBT The Caverns Pelham, TN

So…. We decided that the show is just too late for my daughter especially after her first week of school; however, I am still coming with my son, beaverdamsfinlaw (Bryan), and my brother-in-law. I think that my son may have seen an in-store, afternoon record day show or something similar as an infan...

Whoa! I hate to be that guy but how can I get an Lb rod koozie? I can’t believe this is REK farewell. Re: List of Holy Sites for a Trucker fan

At Helen Keller’s home I explained that I was a big Mike Cooley fan, and the older women working at the house smiled and told me that Mike Cooley was in her Sunday School class and worked as her dentist!

The metropolis of Tuscumbia apparently birthed two Mike Cooleys!

I’m in Birmingham now on the way home from the beach. My daughter loves the movie The Miracle Worker about Hellen Keller, so we’re thinking of stopping my Tuscumbia.

Does anyone have a can’t miss restaurant recommendation for Tuscumbia?

Does anyone know where Smitty’s body was laid to rest or was he cremated? I am absolutely kicking myself…I’m with my family driving home from the beach and stayed close to Fruithurst last night. Turtles all the Way Down-John Green The title immediately made me think of Sturgell Simpson. The book was great, and although I think the intended audience may have been teenage girls, this middle aged man truly enjoyed. My wife picked up the book from the library, but I started reading and was more...

I wasn’t sure of the best place to post this question. I found an Old “Athens Running” thread, and I apparently intended to run during my first homecoming. That never happened, although I do usually hit the workout room at whatever hotel in which I’m staying during HC. I posted in the Athens running...

2) I choose to believe that the angels in the trees on A&F probably sound a lot like Schaefer Llana’s vox on “The Driver,” and think the song actually has a lot of thematic resonance with parts of Act II of SRO (say, from “Plastic Flowers” on). This is such a good point, MM! The two songs (actually...

Schalanky, thanks for the well wishes. So due to recently getting over Covid, I kept my mask up the entire show…nothing to drink, not even water, but the venue was so cool (temperature wise) that I was good. Still, with no inebriating substances in my person, the new “psychedelic cat” background kep...
