Re: the Springsteen thread

It’s disappointing to see an artist with such a deep catalog is out there playing the same set list every night. Agreed. The start of the tour typically goes like this for him but we are now 8 or so shows in on a tour that isn't really behind an album or thematically structured so the lack of set l...

Re: Brighter than Creation’s Dark turns fifteen

Released 1/22/2008. In hindsight it’s truly astonishing that they released a record this good after losing Jason Isbell. The record produced show favorites like Ghost to Most, Righteous Path, Gravity’s Gone and Goode’s Field Road not to mention gems like Perfect Timing, The Opening Act, The Man I S...

Re: My Morning Jacket thread

I've been making my semi-yearly attempt to get into MMJ, but it never seems to stick. I have a bunch of live shows on deck to listen to. my 2 pence... if It Still Moves doesn't work for you, nothing will. Okonokos did it for me. It's the perfect live album. I'll never forget hearing that "I Will Si...

Re: My Morning Jacket thread

I went to the show in Charlottesville and honestly I didn't think it was that great. Have seen a handful of times and know what they are capable of, but this one missed the mark. Ended up leaving early :? The set lists have been inconsistent this tour. The new album is terrible so shows where they'...

Based on set list alone, this has to be the best show of the tour thus far in my opinion. Holy smokes. That's a great looking set list and seeing in person last Sunday how well the band is playing right now, I know this was a knock out. Really hoping they announce a Fall/Winter tour and will hit multiple nights in select cities. First time in a few years I'm pining for more and willing t...

Re: Denver - Levitt Pavilion - 7/15/22

I was a little apprehensive about this one. A number of factors had me worried: outdoor venues have never been my favorite DBT shows (but that's probably because in my limited experience, they've usually been opening in those settings). Along those same lines, a free show can mean a bigger audience...

Re: Welcome to Club XIII

It took me a while to get around to this album but I finally did and I really like it. Easily my favorite since the Big To Do, to be completely honest. Only one trash song (the title track) with everything else clocking in at solid to very good on my radar. Looking forward to seeing some of these l...

Re: Knuckleheads Kansas City, MO 7/16/2022

I was at the show. Yes, she was still the opener. For me “Shake and Pine” was weak as an opener. However the rest of the show was one of my very favorites of my many times seeing them even though it was 4-5 songs short from the norm. Obviously for me the highlight was “We will never wake you up in ...

I wonder why these sets are so short? Did "Shake and Pine" work as an opener? Seems like a bizarre choice.

Is Lydia Loveless still solo or does she have a band on this leg?

Kalamazoo (Bell's Beer Garden) 7/24/22 ROLL CALL

Who's in for this Rawk Show?

This will be my only one this year (unless doable Autumn dates pop up) so needless to say I'm excited. The Beer Garden is a great spot to take in the show and drink good beer. We will probably pre-game at Green Top Tavern and then Old Dog across the street.

Re: Let's go for FIVE nights of Homecoming in 2023!!!

I don't see how this couldn't be accomplished in the 3/4 nights they already do. Really is a bummer to look at that song list and see so many great tunes they refuse to play. I wonder why? I'm not aware of any other band that has such a niche hardcore fan base that refuses to play songs the fans are...

Re: Welcome to Club XIII

I don’t recall the band ever really taking steps to keep live recordings of new songs off the internet, but that appears to be happening with this record. The Team Dirty South Homecoming recordings specifically exclude the new songs, and the SLC recording has gone missing. Obviously it’s their prer...

A quick glance at the setlists from this tour show that Patterson is only up 26-21 over Cooley in unique songs played. Lots of repeats from Hood (Santa Fe, Righteous Path, LTBR, Plastic Flowers and the new songs being repeated a lot) Fair enough. I think I harp on Cooley more because he lets his be...

Cooley on the other hand, once again, can’t respond and plays the same 10-15 songs every night. I’m starting to wonder if he even wants to be there anymore? Seriously. There’s no way the band can still play a song like Gravity’s Gone with a smile on their face. Cooley played 19 unique songs over tw...
