Macon 3/23

Who's in? I scheduled a few meetings in Middle Georgia Friday morning. Will knock those out, pay my respects to Duane, Berry, and Gregg, and get my head right for the ROCK SHOW.

Re: Comedians

George Carlin is probably my all time favorite. Mine's probably Lenny Bruce (unless the Firesign Theatre counts*), but I do love Carlin. He's the first one I saw live, and for that I owe him extra special thanks. I only really knew one John Prine song, Joan Baez's version of Hello In There, till I ...

Re: R.I.P. Col. Bruce Hampton

The Colonel had been playing his Thursday night residency about a mile from my house at The Vista Room. I went a handful of times but wish I'd gone more. Always easy to wish that in retrospect. I never had a bad time seeing him play music or chatting with him outside a venue. RIP, Bruce. We must be...

Re: Atlanta @ Tabernacle w/Kyle Craft

It was always great, indeed, seeing DBT at Variety. But the Tabby...hell, there ain't a thing wrong with a little Saturday night church. Last time I saw them there was a couple of days after Levon died (can it really have been that long?!) and the floors were bouncing. Looking forward to a repeat he...

Re: Candler Park Music Festival

I had a couple of first timers standing next to me. They really got hooked during Sinkhole and started asking me the name of every song after that. They got some good ol belly laughs during a few songs thanks to the boys' smart turn of phrase. It was nice to see some new fans being made. Let's not d...

Trying to decide if I'll head down Friday night as well. It's been a few years since I've seen Leftover Salmon.

Re: Homecoming 2015: 2/12, 2/13, 2/14 @ The Fabulous 40 Watt

I think this year will be my last homecoming. As much as I like the idea of seeing the boys at the 40 Watt the room sucks. It sounds awful and the crowd is always overly aggressive, too liquored up, and generally surly. If I could have seen Friday night's show at the Theatre or another, better venue...

Think I'll grab some drinks at The Lodge beforehand. Bringing two first timers along for the ride.

That Never Gonna Change > Stone Free > Never Gonna Change was absolutely fantastic.

Can't expect too much out of a crowd like that, but everyone seemed to have a good time. I enjoyed Jason's Montreal Expos jokes.

Leap day 2008, St.Louis.

Loooooooong version of the 18 Wheels story.

People Who Died closer starting off with Patterson screaming "Stage call, Felice Brothers! Stage call, Felice Brothers!" and then the whole fucking place went out of control insane.
