Re: 9/30-10/1/16 Portland, OR
Great show last night. The guys were clearly having a blast. Margo & Harold was a surprise. Cooley was playing slide on the Flying V during Sun Don't Shine, which I wouldn't have guessed. Aftermath was fantastic. I think the reworked version, including new lyrics, has really started to work well. It...

Re: 9/23/16 Kansas City, MO
The rumor is true, Patterson dedicated Lookout Mountain to us for our special day, it was very sweet & kind. That was a ridiculously great show. Patterson said it was the "official" first night of an 18 month tour. If that was night 1, we're in for a spectacular tour. You can see the set list is ama...

Our next DBT show will be our 200th. I can't wait! Figured now was a good time to look at the number of times we've seen the various songs, sorted by least to most. This only includes full DBT shows, Cooley solo, Patterson solo etc. are not included. Song # Times % Blessing and a Curse 0 0% Careless...

I like the new version of Aftermath, the lyrics also got updated. Pretty cool.

I just said the same thing about Matt! This is great, glad the scuzzy sound was fixed.potatoeater wrote:Really digging the sound mix. 3DD was a bit different sounding for sure. Matt's bass was way out front on 3DD or Darkened, can't remember which one now it was I was thinking that on.

HOLY SHIT!
Santa Fe, Aftermath, Sign O' the Times, The Bitch is Back!
Was Aftermath the studio version or the re-worked version?
Looking forward to the recording of this show! Thanks for taping, Tom, if that was you.
I can't wait for this Fall tour, sounds like it will be a doozy!

I'm truly going to miss Matt, too. I wish him all the best. He will be a very tough act to follow. They'll need a small army to fill those shoes. Thank you for all of your extremely hard work, Mattador. I hope you finally get some much needed relaxation & time with your beautiful family.

Every once in a while, we kick around ideas for DBT merch. What would you like to see at the merch table? Most of you have mentioned some of the songs I'd like to hear. Just throwing my wishes on the pile. That was so much fun. It was clear the band was happy to be there. I swear Cooley twirled across the stage at one point! The venue is beautiful. The sound up front was crystal clear. Runaway Train, Tales Facing Up & My Sweet Annette were highlights of the old songs. Also, during Buttholeville I said...

We've been wanting to see DBT at Red Rocks for a long time, especially since we've never been to a show there. I'm afraid it's not in the cards this time, unfortunately. The last 2 weeks of August are a blackout period at work meaning it's all but impossible to get time off. We'd have to leave Fri n...

Re: Brooklyn March 6-7
It's fun down front to watch Cooley between songs, as he often does a little third base coach pantomime to alert the other guys to what song he's about to play. One of my favorite things about DBT shows (and there are plenty) is watching Cooley and figuring out his signals for songs. Agreed. I miss...

That was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Always go to night 2. Clams and Bubba and Kevidently have all tried to explain it and did a great job. I echo all of their sentiments. It was non-stop craziness the whole show, in an excellent way. Lots of stories and jokes. Cooley was especially on fir...

Re: Brooklyn March 6-7
Last night was a roller coaster. I thought it might be a mellow show since they have done 3 in a row & night 2 in DC was exhausting for me just watching it, I thought for sure they would be wiped out. Nope. Devil Don't Stay into SinkHole showed they were totally ready for another high energy night. ...

Great review, but one minor quip: when was the last time you saw a DBT show "off the rail"? There are shows I've seen that were not off the rails, believe it o...

Re: 9:30 Club Shows - DC - March 4-5, 2016
Almost forgot. Patterson grabbed a drumstick from Easy B & played cymbals for a bit & then handed the drumstick to Luke. Dirty Paul played the organ for a song. A&F closed with Matt & Easy B leaving after Patterson & Cooley, which meant Thayer playing organ & Jay playing keys to end the show.
