Re: Heathens Homecoming 2018

Can we get some sort of petition or movement going to request (ask politely?) Cooley start relearning Daddy's Cup for the 40 Watt?

Re: Heathens Homecoming 2018

Glad Trey isn't a huge draw in GA- scored 2nd row center seats for the show. Flight changed, Homecoming weekend just got ratcheted up a few notches.

I'm in, likely just Fri and Sat though. Will lock in an Air BNB later today. I did 2012 and 2015, common sense and decency would dictate that it's time to show my face again.

Re: DBT in Denver - 10/13/17

A few random thoughts from Friday night. Even though it was a whiskey tasting event it caught everyone off guard when an email goes out afternoon of saying DBT starts at 9:30 and the event ends at 10. They ended up playing a full hour and kicked ass. The weird thing was it was a really well run even...

Re: DBT in Denver - 10/13/17

Yep. Lots of one offs in really nice places (boulder, Aspen, Telluride)- only two proper Rock Shows (January at the Ogden) but certainly not complaining. Even this gig is another odd one off

Re: Sturgill Simpson Thread

What the other guys said. I've now seen Sturgill 4 times and Red Rocks was hands down my favorite. Every time I've seen him it's had a totally different sound and feel. First show was at the Bluebird (maybe 600 people?) and it was pretty country, the songs pretty true to the albums. Amazing show w S...

Re: RIP Tom Petty 1950-2017

Rock and Roll didn't get much better than Tom Petty. The guy wrote so many great songs. Obviously I didn't know him but he came across as humble, appreciative and just generally happy/thankful to be able to be the guy he was. Every time I saw him I left w the same thought "I forgot how many amazing ...

Re: Atlanta 9/29-9/30

I think it was at the Ogden in January but Patterson said something like "this used to be the part of the show where'd we'd stop, go back stage, do blow, you guys would chant and we'd come back out and play a few more songs. Since we don't do cocaine anymore we're just going to keep playing"

Re: DBT in Denver - 10/13/17

Definitely seems like a bit of an odd setting/ situation for a DBT show but whatever, never complain about a home town show! CO has had a good run of Truckers shows this year (albeit most of them being odd one offs) 2 nights at the Ogden Theater in January 2 nights in Boulder at Chautaqua (a super o...

Re: Boulder Chautauqua Auditorium 6/16 - 6/17

While the sentiment stands, as soon as I posted that I realized it's always just Cooley singing and playing through the first verse! I guess the acoustic version sounded different enough (I didn't recognize the song until he started singing) that it caught me off guard.

Re: Boulder Chautauqua Auditorium 6/16 - 6/17

I didn't go Friday but all in all was quite pleasantly surprised on Saturday night. I had heard from friends that went Friday that the acoustic thing was a last second call because the sound check was too loud and that people were sitting for a lot of the show so I went in a bit apprehensive but eve...

The Rolling Stones in Buenos Aires, February 2016. Probably the single craziest experience of my life. In Argentina specifically, the Stones are still a cultural phenomenon. Their fans are called Rollingas and they're rabid. We started out standing just to the right of the sound board. When the show...

Unless I hallucinated it (which is entirely possible), can anyone can confirm they played the Mary Tyler Moore theme song on the way out of the Stubbs show last month? And did they do this at other shows? The goddamn song has been stuck in my head ever since!
